I’ve heard that MD 210 is under construction, with sections with no shoulders. Does anyone have more info on where exactly that construction is located and how it might impact riding to and from Indian Head from National Harbour?
I received an email from Indian head century organizers saying the have routed around the some bad areas for the ride itself…if you are thinking of riding there I’m not sure…I have ridden on 210 even with no construction and encountered areas that were a bit too close to the speeding traffic so be careful…

Judd, thank you for the welcome. I will definitely be there at 7. 15.5 should be manageable as I think the course is reasonably flat, but then again I have never ridden this ride, and hey, being dropped will only help my fragile ego issue.
As a quick way of introduction, I am a bike commuter type. 30 miles round trip from south of Alexandria. I have been riding solo on both commutes/rides and wanted to get more involved in rides and the biking community. I am very interested in helping to integrate biking into our community and ensuring riding is both safe, fun and an alternative to cars. Yeah, getting on a bike and riding to work in rain, snow, cold, heat is not for everyone, but it should always be an option.
Oh you are talking to the right people! Someone will tell you about Freezing Saddles on the 100 mile Indian head ride…[emoji2]

Hopefully you’ll let me ride with you and whatever group forms, which I would assume will include Mr. Snuggles. This is where we need boomer and Steve O to be SAG for the group’s bike repair needs.
It would be my honor to ride with both of you…it’s a beautiful ride…my favorite last year…the next to last pit stop they had baked potatoes to eat! So cool!

I have a registration that I’m not going to use. Just had knee surgery today (torn meniscus) and though I’m feeling great, committing to a ride of any length on Monday seems overly ambitious.
If you’ve been thinking about going and need a late entry, PM me!

My beloved All-City Space Horse was stolen from my office yesterday in Rosslyn. Dark green with hammered chrome fenders. What to look for: the right rear dropout is painted black (the rest is white), from a repair. Photo below
