I desperately want to bike in on Monday but my level of chicken-ness on snow/ice isn’t even on rcannon’s scale that he posted a few weeks ago.
Hoping this weekend’s rain makes for Tania-clear conditions Monday (Gallows Rd from ~Dunn Loring metro to W&OD/Custis and on into DC via Roosevelt Bridge).
Tania,
I rode in today from Mile 8.0 on the WOD at Virginia Lane through the streets of Falls Church until the Custis trail near the East Falls Church Metro and then into DC via the Key Bridge. I would be happy to ride with you so that you can learn the safest route through Falls Church. Just let me know.Boomer Cycles

Looks like it is too late.
Hmm….what size frame is that bike?
54cm Trek Madone 5.2, bequeathed to the freezing saddlest brave enough to fetch it after I jump off the Key Bridge into the frozen Potomac [emoji4]

It’s now working after delinking and relinking my Strava feed & Instagram. Looks like it just needed to be reset for some reason.
Spoke too soon, the link just seems to be very moody, and works sporadically, with no discernable pattern. Ghosts in the machine?

ParticipantI rode today across town this afternoon on M Street from 14th to 21st, and the bike Lane was cluttered with snow pack and ice chunks, so I found it safer to just take the car lanes.

The TR Bridge is still completely unridable. Trollheim is covered in rutted snow and is rideable by the brave and bold. I didn’t qualify. But the TR parking lot is completely clear and dry, so there’s that. The National Parking Service does a bang up job.
I failed to navigate TR bridge tonight, too, heading eastbound out of the Kennedy Center parking lot. I doubled back to the Key Bridge down M Street. The Key Bridge has a 3 foot wide clear path on the upstream side, from M Street to the Key Marriott.

ParticipantRode today the WOD between Virginia Lane and Little Falls Street in Falls Church, and all was clear, save some dusty snow and black ice in shady spots.
