Let me know how you like it. I’ve got both of the BarFly models which I really like. I use the Time Trial version on my mountain bike and on the tri-bars on the Tweed. I use the regular BarFly on my other bikes. They work very well.
I saw that SRAM is coming out with one this winter that is half the price of the Barfly and K-Edge models. I have one on order, but it hasn’t arrived at my local bike shop yet.
I will let you know. I held the Barfly and it seemed ok. All plastic and not as solid as the K-Edge in my opinion. The Barfly was only $10 cheaper. For the extra $10 I would rather have the CNC milled aluminum mount. Its just solid as a rock and looks awesome. That being said, its crazy expensive. But I think the Barfly is crazy expensive for what you get as well.

ParticipantI got some new Christmas gifts under review right now:
HIT:
– Park Tool Repair Stand (PSC-10): Its folds into a closet when not needed. The build quality is nice, super stable when in use. I am in bike maintenance never and my back thanks for not having to bend over. My review will continue….
– K-Edge Garmin mount: Super high quality, super heavy duty, puts the Garmin in a much better viewing location when riding. Inspires confidence whenever you use your Garmin. My review will continue….UNKNOWN:
-Adrenaline (University of Kansas) Jersey: looks nice, too cold to wear right now.
– 3T Ergosum Pro handlebars: Nice shape, unmount at the moment. More to come….January 2, 2013 at 7:51 pm in reply to: Group Ride – Cap City Brewery to Port City Brewery – 1/26/13 12:00pm #958758bluerider

I already linked to the DSC fork a few posts back, but seeing it mounted on a Kagero frame deserves another covet methinks.
If its possible to be sexually arosed by a bike, that’s it.

Has anyone considered putting one way bike lanes on the right side of the street? I really don’t understand the appeal of the current design.
I know the current design was used to reduce conflicts. Unfortunately, this worked well in theory but horrible in practice. I am also wondering about the validity of a complete redesign of the Penn cycletrack.

Will the “bollards are teh death” folks be upset about sharp metal spikes sticking up from the ground?
Probably….but I don’t really care at this point.

I was thinking more along the lines of “do not cross bike lane – severe tire damage”
NOW THIS I LIKE!!!!!!! Except we actually need to install the tire damaging devices more than the signs themselves.

well, I can’t read Mandarin, but from the looks of it I would say that sign says “NO CARS”. It looks to be some sort of bus lane, and the fencing is probably there to keep the bikes from going out in to that lane.
There were cars on that road. The sign is to keep cars out of the bike lane itself. The fencing is not that pretty but terrible effective. Just one line of fencing down the middle of the bike lane separating each direction of bike lane would do the trick. It would also keep cyclists from doing stupid and illegal things as well which I will admit…..happens.

ParticipantI saw this while I was in China recently. Lets just place one of these to the middle between the two bike lanes.

ParticipantI use the K-Edge chain catcher on my Blue cross bike. It works great and has saved me a few times. The K-Edge is expensive but well made.

ParticipantSo upon thinking a little more, I am planning to try the Jagwire Racer kit and install it myself (my first time recabling a bike). I figure its best to start doing my own maintenance and starting with cheaper cable is a good idea. If I like the Jagwire, then I will buy in bulk. Probably going to wait and see what Santa brings me. In the meantime, if a great deal on higher end cable comes around maybe I will jump. I do like Dirt’s theory: use the cheap stuff and change it more often rather than hold on for dear life with worn cables just because they were so expensive to start with. However, I do like the look of those Alligator iLink cables.
