ParticipantA bit hard to see from so far away but there’s a Raymond Mason sculpture on the wall of the Four Seasons Hotel telling the story of the founding of DC featuring George Washington and L’Enfant. He’s the same artist that created The Illuminated Crowd in Montreal. This was a controversial artwork when it was installed.

Good catch. I think I visited the same one but I’m not sure how I missed that it didn’t have any doors or glass!

ParticipantI thought this might be something related to Duke Ellington but “The Silent Violin’ sculpture is a temporary memorial to honor the victims of the 1922 roof collapse of the Knickerbocker Theater, the deadliest single day disaster in DC.

ParticipantThe Greek Deli, a popular lunch spot downtown near 19th and L St. Kostas the chef and owner grew up in a small village in Greece, served in the Merchant Marines and Greek Navy, before immigrating to the US and opening the Greek Deli. With lines out the door for lunch he can be a little gruff like the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld in order to keep things moving. They recently celebrated 30 years of hard work and success and he hopes to serve for another 30 years!
