Ok, do Spaetzle count? Some think of them more like noodles, but others like dumplings. There are lots of dumpling variations in Germany.

Who knew Germany is a hotbed of dumplings! Seems Washington Post is in the dumplings should have filling camp so I’m leaning with LeprosyStudyGroup that if it has filling and looks like one one of the other dumplings then yes.

What about cream puffs? They’re dumpling enough that Komo featured them on last year’s dumpling ride, so I think they should count :)

Me thinks cream puffs are more of a pastry and falls in the domain of donuteuring. That being said, having a cream puff is like having a wonton (which apparently translates to swallowing clouds) and is also highly encouraged on a dumpling ride!

For the nobody concerned: Dumpling 混沌 Hun dun is a homophone in chinese for the primordial chaos, or force, from which all existence springs and continues, a Taoist concept of how and why our universe came in to being and continues to manifest itself in infinite variations, so please don’t confuse it with a simple BUN of DOUGH. Just kidding that’s all bullshit and doesn’t matter.

Interesting. No wonder there is no universal string theory of what is a dumpling!

The ride start is top secret so maybe that’s why. :) You can also try this link in case the previous one doesn’t work. Basically we will ride around in our vintage best stopping for a picnic and end up at Roofer’s Union for a jazz after party.

Yes Holli from DC Tri club has been organizing one the past few years. I’ll be there and bumping this up in case anyone would like to join.

Thanks for create the game chuxtr. It goes well with doughneuring as well as beerneuring since sometimes you need some fuel to get home.

Congrats to consularrider! He is a coffee riding machine.

It was a fun challenge trying to visit as many coffee places in the DC area and keeping up with consularrider. There are an amazing no of coffee places in the area. I tried to hit them in the morning on the way to work and although I started running out of places near me there were many other places in other neighborhoods waiting to be visited.

Yes it would be fun to do a coffee ride per mile pointless prize next year. I am on the spectrum of staying well hydrated or caffeinated but it would be interesting to see the other spectrum as to who can go the furthest before having to refuel.

How do the road closures impact pedestrians and bicyclists? I see a lot of information for drivers, but are there any restrictions on pedestrians crossing at all the other intersections? Will I at least be able to walk my bike across the route tomorrow on my way to Capitol Hill?

Not that I know of. I think you make sure no one is coming and then cross.

As one of the runners I apologize for the inconvenience! The marathon would make for a fun ride as it goes through so many neighborhoods. It almost covers all 4 quadrants. It doesn’t really go into Southwest, just rolls down south capitol, but that could be easily fixed and then it would make for good marketing like the Five Boro bike tour.
