ParticipantMight as well add to the Strava Art Extravaganza! It’s the Lunar New Year and the year of the pig, so I thought it would be fun to draw a piglet. If anyone would like to join, let’s meet at Northside Social on Sun and roll-out around 10 AM. It’ll be roughly 10 miles so we should done by noon, in time for lunch and then Komorebi’s duck ride!
If all goes well, it should look like this:

Participant3 points granted! Yes I think everyone that came on the ride deserves 3 points for being able to devour so many dumplings!

ParticipantThey all sound delightful. I was wondering what the soupy dumpling was. Soup within soup!

ParticipantIn case anyone needs some pastry motivation in the DMV, here’s an old article from Eater. There’s quite a few not listed including Heidelberg Pastry in Arlington and Un Je Ne Sais Quoi in Dupont.

ParticipantSome photos from the Great Dumpling ride. Tagged along to audit making sure everyone was eating their share of dumplings. First time for me and probably all of us hitting two dim sum places in one day! Thanks to Josephine for organizing the ride.

ParticipantJoined Team X – the fun team – last Fri to continue the tours of breweries in VA. This time to New District Brewing. I had always wanted to go here as well. Got a flight consisting of the Potomac Paddleboarder, Ginger Saison, Northside Kolsch, and Sangriale. I liked that some of the names were based on the area. The Potomac Paddler thankfully did not taste like the Potomac but a blonde ale. All were enjoyable. Particularly liked the Ginger Saison and the Sangriale which didn’t taste like a regular red ale with its fruity flavor.

ParticipantSome photos of the W&OD, Mt Vernon trail by the airport, and 14th St Bridge. Saw quite a few cyclists cruising along the Mt Vernon trail despite it being patchy.

ParticipantI did the Arlington loop this morning. The Custis trail was clear from Key Bridge all the way to where it met the W&OD. The W&OD looked clear towards Falls Church from there but going the other direction it had not been cleared. Once you get to Shirlington onto the 4 mile run then it is clear all the way to the Mt Vernon trail. Then on the Mt Vernon trail itself it is pretty spotty. Took the 14th St bridge and it was clear there.
Some photos of the Custis trail to where it meets the W&OD.

ParticipantMore spiriteuring! Passed by District Distilling on the way home. They distill a number of spirits from rum and gin to bourbon. Had a cocktail with the Wild June, their western style gin. Quite flavorful without being too overwhelming. Also found that the bartender Javier looked remarkably similar to a friend in San Francisco! See what you think of the resemblance.,

ParticipantThink we need something to warm us up in this kind of weather. A bit last minute but if you don’t have plans tomorrow night, let’s head over to Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill tomorrow (Thurs) night from 6 – 8:30ish PM, possibly longer, for some libations to warm us up for the way home.

Thanks Sarah. I was too slow to get the giraffe!
