Adding 3 I went through on a recent ride.

I added them to the Google Map as well

Click on the name in the Google Map legend to have it highlighted on the map

I call them:
1. Gravel Gate – nice gate/opening in the fence to connect Highland & Williams Dr.
2. Horner Ct Connector – Elementary school cut through to connect the two Horner Courts
3. Briar Patch – short sidewalk to connect Briary Lane & Way. Great place to cross Little River T’pike at a light

1/25/21 – Bubbles & Bubble Wrap!

Great to learn Nat’l Bubble Wrap day had origins in Bloomington, IN, where I went to grad school. Go Hoosiers!
I found a good variety of bubbles in the dark this morning, and I’m sticking with the original bubble wrap for today’s photo….found while peering into the window of the FedEx in Crystal City.

Scanned all the cars I could along my route today, and never found a sticker on a car Good thing I had the store as a backup.

1/23/21 – Pie Day!

Living the Pie Life is up the street from me at N. Glebe & Lee Hwy.
They often sell out so you might want to order ahead. It’s a little shop open a few days a week.

I made a collage photo so you can see the pies & the place (love the sign!).

1/22/21 – Polka Dots

Found a wide variety out today (some with more creative license than others), so my Strava pics will definitely have people scratching their heads if they aren’t aware of this scavenger hunt. Sticking with a boring but safe one for this post though.

I’m fine with posting either/both places. Just make sure I can tell who you are if you only post to the Google Album (so far I can figure out everyone’s Forum alias from your Google Name).

I know it’s not an easy game (hard to find good mailboxes); not expecting these are things that you come across on a daily basis.

I’ll get a Google Sheet published soon so everyone can see the scoring.
In the Sheet I’ll note “questionable” mailboxes in the total. Two reasons:
1. Prevent anyone from including lots of “weak” mailboxes to win the total count prize
2. Let everyone know what I think along the way of “questionable” mailboxes (I know, it’s subjective).

Lots of awesome mailboxes….there are some sharp eyes out there!
Here is a link to a Google Spreadsheet that I will keep updated tracking all entries.

Comments:

• I’ll track “Approved” mailboxes for the winner of most found
• For each mailbox photo, I’ll note whether “Approved” or “Questionable” so everyone knows
• After the mailbox description I’ll include “F” or “G” to note where the photo is posted
• Hopefully all these examples and judgements make it more clear what counts
• A good rule of thumb is that it should be a unique mailbox that you can’t just go buy at the store

Interestingly, there is a sign at Gravelly Point that has Reagan misspelled (Regan)….not sure that would count for this game if I posted it
