This is not an infiltrator from the team coming second. Honestly.
This is the kind of question that deserves proper attention. I suggest that team 7 take a three day retreat on this and really workshop it. Take off those bike shoes, and think through a name that will inspire you for the rest of the campaign.
If you all promise to stay off your bikes, I swear I will vote you as the best named team.
I do believe we have this on our calendar starting March 20!

ParticipantSo far you are the only three that can have a perfect attendance. You all are awesome, especially considering the weather we’ve had. Keep up the great work!!
And to everyone else (including me), just keep on keeping on!! Remember that we do this for fun. But it’s great to be on a team that seems to really get into the spirit of things. Most of you are quite active on Strava and on the BAFS forum. And it’s much more fun being on a team that likes to have fun. Let’s keep it up!!
I really hope that we can manage to squeeze in some type of team ride before the end.AlanA

If your garmin is shorting you on total feet climbed you can always open your ride via the strava website and click correct elevation.
Garmin Express and Strava both do the same elevation correction. I have never had them increase my elevation. In fact, they even tell you to NOT do a correction if your unit goes by barometric pressure (which I believe most Garmin’s do). The correction is mostly useful for totally wacko elevations. I just wish I could somehow use Ride with GPS data on Strava. They seem to have elevation based upon the roads you ride on.
My biggest problem with my new Garmin is on short rolling hills where you fly down one and fly up the other. It screws me pretty much every time. And there is nothing I can do about it. It’s just about perfect for long, gradual climbs.

I am a climbing monster!
Oh no. rannon100 is Bob C. I think I may have slightly insulted him in some other previous post (although you really had be paying attention to catch the insult). I certainly hope this won’t make him do even more hilly rides!!

musclys has the ELEMNT and he routinely has more elevation than I do when we ride together. So when it’s time for a new computer Wahoo gets my money. :p
lol, time to look into the Wahoo ELEMT! I wonder if I can get one from Amazon by tomorrow!

I figured you would be a front-runner, looks like you’ve got some competition! Bob C from Team 18 is sitting at 75 ft/mi, Cynthia P from Team 22 at 60 ft/mi, and Rachel C from Team 17 @ 59 ft/mi just from my quick look at the “Distance Elevation Speed” chart.
Ugh! Bob C (who I think happens to be one of those randonuttes) looks like a formidable opponent. If I had my old Garmin, I’d have a much better chance at beating him. But my stupid new Garmin cheats me out of about 10% per ride according to Ride with GPS. However, I will give it my best shot.
Any chance of getting a few bonus points for finishing in the top 3 of miles while doing this? It’s one thing to do a lot of climbing per mile, but it’s another to do it all the time. Haha, I figure it can’t hurt asking. Either way, I’m up to the challenge.

It’s not those posers on Team 7 you should be worried about. But the high rollers on Legal in Las Vegas who have actually ridden more miles than y’all and aren’t that far behind you in points.
And clearly you are not a dedicated FS rider. Knowing that your ride failed to record, you should’ve gone back out and done it again making sure your Garmin or phone or whatever you use was working. Talk about being a poser!
What rides in Vegas stays in Vegas.
P.S. Penguin Team. This is all about fun and not about insults!!
And chuxtr, if that was meant as a joke, it didn’t come across very well.

ParticipantJust a quick shout out to everyone who went out and braved a few miles today! Even those poor souls that had to bail out due to icy conditions. We held on our own an a pretty crappy day, and considering how much testosterone is floating around out there, I am impressed. lol, by the way. I am NOT one of those testosterone laden people!
AlanA
ParticipantOoooh, a hill challenge. Count me in!! I’m around 56′ per mile right now, but that includes many flatter rides than I usually do thanks to travel and the wickedly cold weather.

Has anyone mentioned what an awesome team we are???
Oh, and I made a post on the Strava Page about a possible group ride. Please make sure you check that out. I could add that as an official BAFS ride if I see any interest.

Here are the event details for tomorrows MLK ride.

Leaving from Proteus at 10am PST (Proteus Standard Time – a joke that means we will leave 5-10mins after the hour to allow for stragglers to arrive). Heading down the ART trail system to Maine Ave, cut over to Hains Point and up Ohio. Return trip will be along the same route. I plan to stop for food/drinks somewhere in that area, maybe Navy Yards – a chance to warm up. Temperatures are going to be cold, so dress appropriately and consider a change of clothes for food stop.
I’m not even going to try and come up with an excuse for missing this. It’s just going to be too cold for me to make it there by 10:00 am. You guys are looking at temps of maybe 20 when you start. I hope it’s a good turn out, and I look forward to trying another ride once it gets a bit warmer.
And there’s a good chance I won’t even be awake by 10:00 with the forecast. I like my warm, fuzzy, bed.
But I will get out for something once it warms up a bit.

Monday’s is the regular Bike Arlington Pancake Club meeting. Since it is BAFS season, and a holiday, there will probably be other fellow riders there meeting for breakfast. It would be
great to have some from team 13 there.Meeting around 8ish. I don’t think it’s open before 8, since it is a Holiday. I’ll probably be leaving around 9-9:30ish and can ride back west on the WOD with anyone going that way.

Time: 8:00am[/COLOR]Bob, I do believe that may end up more than 50 miles for you roundtrip. Are you sure you are ok with doing more than 50 miles in a day?? I vaguely recall something you said about averaging 50 miles per day during freezing saddles.

I just saw this posted on the Primal Penguins board: “Team, I am thrilled that we Penguins have been dominating the top of the team leaderboard, but Team 7 just zoomed up and is breathing down our backs! Let’s just keep riding, every day if you can, and maintain our lead over those Seventh Heaven posers.”
Well, if we are posers, we are officially now supermodels, because today we took the lead! YEAH!!!!
Hah, Rumi. I had just gone over to the Penguins page and was about ready to copy that post and share it here. But you beat me to it! Well done!! It’s nice to have like thinking team mates.
I also voiced my displeasure on their post.

I am also very sorry to say about 6 miles I rode today failed to record, and no manual entries…I hope to make it up over the 3-day weekend.
It is great to be meeting you here. More introductions, please.
EdelweissUmmmmm……excuuuuse me. Posers, you say??
