Ima just gonna leave this here. It looks like it could be a flat Hilly Billy as far as “road” conditions.

I’m trying to figure out if the Schwalbe G-One Allround’s I have are adequate or if I should get tires with a more aggressive tread.

What better way to get ready for it than a “last weekend of BAFS2018” 150 (or 100 or 50) mile gravel race in the flat lands of North Carolina?!

Anyone want to take a trip to the beach?!

My schedule haz been all over the map lately and Thursdays are even more hit or miss for me, but I’m certainly interested in attending if we have one.

My commute is roughly between Shirlington and Union Station. Any detour within reason works for me.

The folks at Jump Bikes were kind enough to give me my very own offer code. If you sign up for a new Jump Bikes account using the offer code Jump4Judd you’ll get four free rides!

How long will the “Jump on Judd” offer last?

I’ve seen Smokey J in Crystal City and I believe someone else has mentioned they’ve seen him Old Town.

As other’s have said, he is like clockwork; I always know if I’m running late, by how far he’s made it across the 14th St bridge when I pass him. Ideally, I’ll pass him near the DC side around 6:05/6:10 in the morning.

Depending how rural your home/location, offsetting the circle still may not do much if for degrading the CEP if yours is the only house/compound in the area or a terrain overlay shows your house is the only reasonable option.

The Ballston store is a bit out of my way so I didn’t visit often, but they were very friendly when I brought in my commuter bike to buy my first clipless pedals and bike shoes. Other times, while the service wasn’t as great, I never felt it was horrible.

What would you think about Black Squirrel? I know it’s a bit of the beaten path, but not too far from W&OD by the Dunn Loring metro.

My other half works near there and suggested that while the beer selection is pretty good, the food was consistently bad enough over multiple visits that most of the people in her office refuse to go there.

I’m always up for a ride to Caboose Brewery

What do you get when you cross an OFO bike with a MOBIKE?

    A MO’FO’ bike!!!

(Tell me you saw that coming!)

Yea, but a motorist on their cell phone will still right hook it…

Alan, I have a few questions:

    1. Are you still offering a Pointless Prize to the BAFSer with the biggest circle?
    2. What are the rules? Obviously “biggest circle”/fastest average, but are there are conditions, such as minimum miles logged (e.g., 1,000km)?
    3. Can the winner opt to not have you stare into their eyes at the closing happy hour?

I thought #3 is the pointless prize

I’m amazed at some of the stuff I’ve run over on my Schwalbe Marathon Mondial tires and haven’t flatted.
