According to the official “sticky,” it’s at Kaldi’s in Silver Spring. However, I’d like to get confirmation from someone who actually goes.
Or at least interest from 2-3 others before I commit to riding over there.November 9, 2014 at 11:13 pm #1014233rcannon100
ParticipantWell if no one is gonna respond ~ let’s pick a place and have an ICC (Impromptu Coffee Club). We could do St Elmo’s in Del Rey???

ParticipantIf there is a DTSS Coffee Club, it’ll probably just be 1-3 of us.

ParticipantI can be there at the normalish time, but don’t have the day off so have to roll out around 8 AM.
Will have a new Garmin Virb to show off though!November 10, 2014 at 12:52 am #1014238Arlingtonrider
ParticipantI’d be up for St. Elmo’s. DTSS is a great idea, but just a little too ambitious for me that early on a holiday.
I’m taking tomorrow off too and am toying with the idea of heading out for a mid-morning coffee (9:30-10ish?) at Caffe Amouri. Anyone else playing hooky is welcome to join me!

ParticipantCross posted from other threads.
Looks like it’s too early this time for us Virginians. Someday would love to go to the DTSS Coffee Club. Maybe you can rally up some other recruits from that side of the river.
On this side, Veteran’s Day Coffee Club/Coffeeneuring will be at St. Elmo’s in Del Ray
Those interested in convoying on the WOD may meet at the intersection of the Custis at 7:58. Roll-out at 8:00am

ParticipantCan someone explain for the uninitiated (assuming you want to risk their showing up)?

Start by looking at the Coffee Club Sticky.
Each week there are several morning gatherings of bicyclists at various coffee shops. The first and still the largest is at Swing’s near the White House on Fridays (but the best one is at Java Shack). Anyone is welcome to attend any of these, either one time or every time, whatever works for you.
Since this Tuesday is a holiday for some, we coffee club regulars have created a singular coffee club event at St. Elmo’s in Alexandria. You are absolutely welcome to come; we will take that risk.
For more information on coffeeneuring, click here.

ParticipantThanks! I am on the Maryland side of things, but that does sound like fun. I am at a loose end tomorrow and had only planned to beat myself up a little bit in the park in the early a.m.

Yep, the one at Swing’s (“Friday Coffee Club”) started off as something on the “Twitterverse” between a small group of regular #bikedc hashtag users and DC bike bloggers who decided they should meet up in person.
The Friday one at Java Shack is probably more a coffee club extension of regular posters here – so it’s a bit more of a close-knit group, but you’re more likely to meet new commuters and see more interesting bikes at the DC location. IMO, the DC one also has a little more diverse ridership (and has better pastries…). The coffee is great at either location.
