I was thinking of Shirlington because I know the manager there, but we could consider downtown as an option too.

How about around 1 p.m. on a Saturday at the downtown location?

It has secure bike parking at the bike station, is metro accessible, easier for most DC and Maryland folks, and would be during daylight when it’s a little warmer.

Any in favor?

I think you are referring to the Cap City Brewery that USED to be located next to Union Station. It closed down a year or two ago. The only downtown location is at 1100 New York Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20005.

There is always beer consumption. Arlingtonrider is referring to our usual summer meeting place at Capital City Brewery in Shirlington.

Beer, coffee, all good when combined with an excuse to get together with the denizens of the WABA forum. 😮 Thats a yes vote for the downtown, daylight location BTW.

A Saturday is perfect! I always go for a ride anyways, usually with Proteus. I’ll just buzz down the CCT instead.

I’m intrigued with the idea of combining Steve’s Cap City to Port City ride on Sat., Jan. 26 with a happy hour at Cap City Shirlington after the ride, since that is the (start and) end destination anyway. Those who do the ride could warm up afterwards, and those who don’t want to do the ride could meet us there. There’s plenty of free parking in Shirlington for both cars and bikes.

Then we could try for a DC happy hour in February or March.

Would that work? Steve, your thoughts?
