ParticipantLet’s see, the same photo, but one is 22″ and the other is 18″?

ParticipantYour right. I mean, if your going to sell you’re bike online, the you’re best bet is probably not to be so obvious about it. (Sorry couldn’t resist.)
Overmotivated seller is perhaps a tip-off to something afoot. Could it be a stolen image and not a stolen bike? One ad claims it’s an 18″ frame (which it looks like given the head tube length) and the other is claimed to be a 22″ frame, doubtful given the appearance.
Either way it is a little fishy to say the least.

I guess not everything’s bigger in Texas.

ParticipantBuying a used bike is creepier than I thought. Not one of the six people I’ve contacted from adverts on Craigslist has wanted me to come to a house or apartment. They ALL want to meet in parking lots or “near the metro”. I really wish Phoenix bikes answered their phone now.

To be fair, I wouldn’t want creepy cl people at my house either. I would definitely arrange a meet at a public spot.

That’s weird. When I moved back to the VA area after living abroad I bought a ton of stuff off CL to furnish my apartment on the cheap and met everyone at their home. I guess buying furniture / home accessories is a different market than bikes. Probably cause there are more stolen bikes than ottomans?!
P.S. Riley, you may want to contact The Old Bike Shop in Arlington as well. They sell refurbished bikes.

Probably because nobody wants to drag a sofa to the metro

ParticipantBought my Scott on CL and seller was fine with showing the bike at his home. He also showed me the very spendy new euro carbon bike under a blanket in his SUV. Then later his wife tells me that he really wants this new bike but can’t buy it until he sells the Scott! I got a little more adventurous with my offer knowing that
