Why am I not on the leaderboard?

If you are participating in Freezing Saddles, your name should now be found on this page: https://freezingsaddles.org/people/ If you have ridden any miles since January 1, your miles should also be shown on that page.

If they are not, you missed one of four things. You can fix the problem yourself by just checking each of them.

1. Did you join the Freezing Saddles 2021 Strava club? Go to https://www.strava.com/clubs/freezingsaddles2021 and join that club.
2. Did you authorize Freezing Saddles to read your Strava miles? Go to https://freezingsaddles.org/authorize and do that. (There is no harm in doing that, even if you did it before.)
3. Do you have miles on Strava marked as private? The page at https://freezingsaddles.org/authorize gives you two options: allowing Freezing Saddles only to read your public miles, and allowing it to read all your miles. Go to that page, select the second option, and click Submit.
4. Are your miles shown as “Rides” on Strava? If a ride is shown as “Virtual Ride,” “Workout,” etc., it will not be counted. You can edit your rides to change them to “Rides,” at which point the problem will be fixed.

If you do those things, you should show up on the page within an hour or so.

So we’ve had 257 people register, and there are 227 on the leaderboard. The rest of you need to go to https://freezingsaddles.org/authorize and authorize Freezing Saddles to read your miles.

I thought I registered – I also authorized Freezing Saddles to see my public rides and I’ve been part of the strava club. I also registered for the happy hour a few days back.

But I still don’t show up in the leaderboard. Could you help troubleshoot?

A couple of issues I’m seeing. First, you are not showing up as a member of the Strava club, at least using the Strava number you gave when you registered. (I checked both your Strava profile, and the membership list for the club.) Can you please go to https://www.strava.com/clubs/freezingsaddles2021 and join?

Second, it appears that all your rides are private. Can you please try authorizing again at https://freezingsaddles.org/authorize, and making sure you check the second box (“[FONT=&amp]Allow Freezing Saddles to also read (and count points for) activities marked ‘private’.”)

[/FONT]Also, since I can’t see your rides, you’ll need to check to make sure they show up as rides. We’ve had some people whose rides have shown up as virtual rides, workouts, etc.—and those don’t get counted. If this is true for any of your rides, you’ll need to edit the activity type in order to have them counted.

Once you do all this, it may take an hour or so for you to show up on the board, but that should fix it.

EDIT: I now have all the teams in!

The new reason you are not on the leaderboard is because you are not on a competition (numbered) team yet. Teams were announced at the FS Happy Hour night.

I hunted down Strava clubs for most of the teams, but :

* I’m still missing those for teams 5, 7, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 28, and 30
* I asked on the forum in the team threads for teams 5, 7, 8, 11, 14, 15, 17, and 18 for someone to post a link to the Strava club. Then with Jon’s help I found team 8’s club.
* Not every team captain has posted a forum thread
* I could not find forum threads or obvious Strava clubs for teams 12, 28, and 30
* There’s also the dubious team 69 to contend with [emoji23]

I’m flipping the switch to add the teams now, so team captains will have to get in gear and post their club IDs to the forum for their team members to join so they show up on the leaderboards again.

It would not hurt to PM me with the club URL either.

This might apply to a few other folks – while I’m registered, I was told last night that I’m on standby for a team. Does that mean I won’t show up on any leaderboard until I’m picked up by a team? Couldn’t find my stats anywhere on the FS21 website.

You should show up here: https://freezingsaddles.org/people/friends

You won’t show up on the main leaderboards until and unless you have a spot on a team, and you’ve joined that team’s Strava club, and at least an hour passes by.
