As someone who rarely bikes in Arlington, I’d prefer a more generic design. Can’t lose my Columbia Heights street cred.
Tho’ to be fair, you’re more likely to lose your bike before your cred, there . . .

One of the reasons I keep my bike indoors.

Doesn’t the top of the page say this:
Washington Area Bike Forum
Welcome to the Washington Area Bike Forum, presented by BikeArlington, goDCgo, and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association.
No, sorry, I’m not a BikeArlington person, but I’m happy to participate in the forum. Using all three logos (BA, goDCgo and WABA) is a little much, though. How about we just use the FABB logo?
My vote is for something reflective like stickers or leg bands, by the way.

Hi! Evil infested and infected Marylander here. Bike Arlington, to me, is Bike Arlington. As in ‘bikearlington.com’. It has probably been that way for a long time. It will probably stay that way for a long time. I have no idea, but I’d guess somewhere along the way WABA said “you’ve got an active forum, can we piggy-back?” and Bike Arlington (being so gracious! thanks!) Said “sure!”. There are other “bike forums” and lists (shudder, potomac peddlers page is horrible, which is why I settled on Bike Arlington) but none are quite as nicely laid out and active, seemingly, as Bike Arlington. Sure, there’s Bike Forums.net and stuff like that, but I honestly like the local camaraderie we have here. Personally, it doesn’t matter to me what it’s called, it’s a great place to find local resources and make community ties to the DC cycling population. Short of someone creating or renaming the entire thing to “BikeDCregion.com” or something, this will always be Bike Arlington. I’m OK with that, and most people probably aren’t bothered by it. So, what is wrong with the current Bike Arlington jerseys? NOTHING. I’m going to go down and pick one up from one of the 2 places that sells them (hopefully soon).
Also, for me, wearing a Bike Arlington jersey is as much about promoting this community as it is about identifying friends on the trail… which the meet-ups kind of accomplish anyways. So really it’s more about getting people to come here.
oh, and if you want something more “regional friendly”, WABA does have some very fancy jerseys!

And we should get orange cone-shaped helmets.
Now there’s something that’s distinctive, hi-vis, can be worn all year round and could even be made aero

ParticipantThe cone could have cutouts so that it fits over the entire head. Sort of like this:

As for bike jerseys, I rarely wear them. I only wear them during races, so that means just a couple times a year at most. In the summer, I wear running tech shirts. In the winter, I add a layer or two, either a half-zip long-sleeve and/or a bright yellow windbreaker.

ParticipantI’m no graphic designer, but perhaps something as simple as this?

P.S.: I’m on board for something to stick to the bike/panniers/backpack (stickers, buttons, license plates, tags, etc)

I was hoping for something that could be made out of the way too abundent traffic cones so my ideal helmet might be cone shaped in a different direction.

Awesome. Thanks. It’s basically what I was thinking, except I was thinking:
LOVE YOUR COMMUTE WWDD Basically yours, but with different kinds of bikes to prove we love everyone!

Indeed. Thanks. It should be noted that most of the cones were, in some form, contained. It is the free spirit, free range cones I object to. That seems to be the cones managed by the NPS. I’d hazard a guess that if the number of cones in use in the DC Metro area were reduced magically by 75%, there would be no measurable change in congestion, accidents or other issues.

Mark, I’m one of those dreadful MD riders (why are we bad? I forget. . . .) Well, seems like everything in my home state has the Maryland flag design involved ) think Terrapin uniforms, or better yet, Ravens or Orioles arm patches/seals. But really, I’m with Ann on this one – the characteristic that suits all of us best is that we ride bikes. Period. I enjoy the tri-municipal nature of our gang. And one last thing – Castelli is very good, but Giordana also makes a nice trade jersey. Rapha does not.

ParticipantI don know. I think the mob has spoken and we should use the Bike Arlington logo:

(Hint: that Arlington is from Texas)
