ParticipantI love the great quality of the BikeArlington jersey – it’s the best one I own. But I only wear it occasionally, and like rcannon100, for most of the year, I wear a day-glo yellow vest or jacket.

Interesting on the fit issue. I haven’t heard the “too short” problem with them. We have them in XS-XXL for women–what size were you trying on? Is there another brand you prefer?
Obvious the cut is different for men than women, but I’m pretty tall and wouldn’t mind them being a little longer!
I like the Primal, Hincapie and Pearl Izumi brands. I don’t recall what size I was trying on but I’ve got a short torso. I keep the tailors in business.

Interesting–I find the Hincapie to be too short. I haven’t tried on anything in Primal or Pearl.
Okay, back on topic!

I can’t possibly imagine why that is.
Some of the forum kits are pretty cool – I spotted a reddit kit out on the trail the other day and I liked that design a lot.

I saw a Strava jersey this morning on the W&OD and it wasn’t bad either. Although I really had the urge to overtake him.

FYI–we don’t make any money off the BA jerseys. We sell them at cost. Even though they are a little pricier than some of the low end generic jerseys you can find, they are high performance.
Coincidentally, they’re the same type of jerseys that the Trek Mountain Biking team used to use a couple years ago. Funny how things like that work out.
Yeah they’re the nice Mt. Borah ones with the full zipper! I just don’t usually spend upwards of $30 on a jersey because I’m not high performance. The nicest jerseys I have are Hincapie brand but I got them cheap (I agree I do find them a little short though).
What about a technical t-shirt or polo shirt? They’d probably be cheaper, and would appeal possibly to a wider crowd. Would people here wear those riding? I don’t actually need rear pockets for commuting, although I do use them.

ParticipantI’d quite like a forum jersey
Can an Alexandrian wear a Bike Arlington jersey or will I be hunted down by roadies in snobby Lycra and flung into the Potomac?

Absolutely! But you will be sent a tax bill from the Arlington Treasurer since you will henceforth be classified as an honorary Arlingtonian; kinda like having dual citizenship.

Well that’s all right, I do live on the border so I should probably have some sort of visa.
Does this mean I have to get brown flip flops?

I beg to differ. In my experience, I don’t ride any faster in a BA jersey than I do in the ratty tee shirt!

ParticipantHow about a small BA reflective strip for the back of our helmets?

Me, too. I don’t like elastic hem jerseys so I had the tailor take the elastic out of my Bike Arlington jersey’s hem. Since then, I learned that Mt. Borah offers a women’s cut without an elastic hem (hint! hint!).
What do other women think of elastic in the hem of cycling jerseys? It’s a complete non-starter for me, but I realize we come in all shapes and sizes.
My favorite jersey brands for my, um, classic female shape are Twin Six, Terry and Rapha (women’s cut all). I have learned by trail and error and had to get rid of some that just didn’t work out. Expensive mistakes.

ParticipantI’d rather work on a secret handshake, but a jersey is cool.

It needs to be compatible with 30-40mph combined trail passing speed lest our “secret sign” be a hand cast…
