Nadine – You’re welcome!
Everyone who registered by the deadline, i.e., followed cvcalhoun’s instructions, is on a team. And actually, a few people are late registrants because a couple people decided to drop out. Anyone else who late registered is on the wait list and in the queue as a replacement.

Some of us have had issues with the forum software as WELL as the registration software. I will be happy to be on Team Slacker this year if that is how things fall out – we do have a Team Slacker, don’t we? Or Team Chopped Liver, either way:p

It’s called “Friends of BAFS” this year. But if you choose to call it Slackers, I won’t tell.
What issues did you have with the registration software? I’d heard of issues getting Freezing Saddles to read your miles, but not with the registration form itself.

Not officially this year, but I’m sure there are plenty of reindeer games in our future

ParticipantIf you thought you registered for Freezing Saddles but don’t see your name on the list, please contact cvcalhoun ASAP. I’m guessing (but can’t be absolutely 100 percent sure) the reason is because your email address wasn’t confirmed. You can still register and be put in the wait list queue as a substitute. If history is any indicator, there will be people who drop out and we’ll need substitutes.

ParticipantI guess I am out this year. I tried (twice) to register. Apparently without success. I’d encourage the organizers to review the registration page for next year.
See yall out on the road.

ParticipantWhat date did you try to register? And what happened?
We had some people who tried to register before there was a submit button. We also had people who tried to register when the page to authorize Freezing Saddles was down. While we posted a workaround as many places on the forum as we could think of, I think some people missed that.
I also warned people (on the forum, on the registration form, and on the confirmation page after submitting) that if you did not receive an email asking you to click on a link to confirm your email, you needed to email me. And with every single person who emailed me at the time, I found that their registration form had gone through (and I was able to confirm their email). So I’m surprised that anyone had trouble with the registration form, as opposed to the other aspects described above.

SpenceSounds like someone is volunteering to take over the registration duties for next year.
Seriously, the instructions were very clear, very detailed, and very specific. I am curious to know what the issue was.

ParticipantJust before Christmas. Not sure the exact date. I think the recaptcha was defective somehow because I would hit submit, then get the recaptcha challenge, then it would spin forever. I never got a link in e-mail at all.

You can still register and be put on the wait list. There’s a good chance (but can’t promise) that you’ll get assigned to a team if enough people drop out (and people always do). And if I have enough people on the wait list after all the teams are official, i.e., everyone has signed up for their team on Strava, I am thinking about creating another team comprised of the people on the wait list. Again, I can’t promise that but we’ll see what happens.

Please submit a registration, hope for the best, and ride everyday in the meantime! BAFS is too fun to let a technical glitch stand in the way

ParticipantI am on the list here, but cannot find myself anywhere in the Freezingsaddles website, I’m neither in the individual leaderboard nor under “People”. I have reauthorized Strava via link sent by Chuck to allow my private info to be seen by FS. However, when I click “Login” on the far right side of FS website, it takes me to the Strava/FS Authorization dialog. When I click “Authorize”, it give me the following:
Authorization Results
Hi, HF.So you are a Strava athlete, we get that. Unfortunately, one of these two things is true:
you are not registered with any of the configured Freezing Saddles teams, or
you did not give Strava permission for us to “View your complete Strava profile”. Without that, we can’t see what clubs you belong to.
If the latter is true, try to login again and grant us permission to “View your complete Strava profile”.Somthin’ ain’t right…
FYI, my Strava name is different from my forum name, FWIW.

ParticipantThis is a known issue. (We’ve got only 36 people on the leaderboard at the moment, not including me.) Obscurerichard and his team are working on it. @ImaCynic 184535 wrote:
