who is planning to ride thru the upcoming heat wave?

I’ve found that I just can’t ride home when the temperature reaches about 95- big hills to climb, little shade. So I think I will have to ditch the bike on Wed and Thur. What about all you other commuters? And is there a secret to riding thru the heat?

No problem. I rode on more than 100 during last summer. I freeze both of my Insulated Water Bottles before the ride and wear jersey with mesh on the back.

Since I have lived in Arlington, it has never been too hot or too cold to ride. I hate the heat (and that’s anything above 80 degrees). but I just make sure to drink more water — before, during, and after. If it’s nt hot, I might not drink at all on my commute, but I amke sure to drink when it’s hot I probabky ride a tad slower, too, but that could be due to more people out on the trails.

Yup, but I learned that you can break a cyclocross tire at -56 degrees.

I have some work and familiarization to be done with my bike so the heat will give me a good opportunity to take it apart. and stay cool.

I’d rather sit outside in the oven than be stuck in that mess. Wake me when the Maryland drivers figure out how to negotiate a middle lane closure.
