Well, since we’re posting photos….my dog and I were featured quite prominently on a certain popular website…

I’m Eric and can be found cruising between Takoma Park and Arlington by way of GBT to CCT to Glebe and the hills of North Arlington until I arrive at Marymount University to teach kiddos astrophysics. I’ll be in a dirty bright yellow pearl Izumi cycling jacket, with 1 pannier on a 7.2 trek fx hybrid. Dreaming of getting a cyclocross (kona jake, need to find one…perhaps Proteus… or fuji cross from performance).

I’m Mike and I commute on a silver/grey Fuji hybrid that’s sturdy, slow, and reliable. I commute from Silver Spring/Takoma Park to Downtown DC on the MBT, 5th/6th, 14th, and (on nicer days) the GBT and CCT. Curiously, with none of these routes am I as swift as the bicycle messenger guy in “Premium Rush”…perhaps my tires are underinflated….

Oh jeez, I am terribly embarrassed that I never registered with a clever forum nick. So undramatic a reveal for the thread. 😡 I’m a utility rider ( meaning I ride everywhere I can although I did start my car today for the first time in two months ) commuting from NW DC near Walter Reed to Silver Spring near the head of the CCT. Sorry, no pics of myself in spandex and a helmet but I do have a nice pic of my 1980 Raleigh Tourist.

Thats a great flick! Motivates me to occasionally take my downtown route. Since we both cruise along the GBT and CCT sometimes, if you ever happen to see me in my bright yellow jacket and dark black skateboard helmet on a black 7.2 Trek FX hybrid with bar ends shout out a hello!

I’m Laurie. Usually riding my Bianchi Zurigo cross bike – a bike fit to race, but usually loaded down with rack and panniers somewhere between Greenbelt-College Park-DC; or on my Red/White Orbea Volata. I’m often seen riding with the character known as “Greenbelt”

    The name’s Kathy, with a “K”.

I ride a tiny red and white Cannondale Synapse that is covered with Bike Arlington frog lights (six in total). Commonly seen cursing my way through Gravelly Pt.

I am NOT a morning person. You have been warned.

Steph here. Fallen off the Forum lately as training has made me busy and grumpy. For the time being, you’ll most likely see me in ELITE mode on my b/w Cannondale Supersix in my black, white and green team kit, most easily identified by the Dogfish Head logo. In the past and on rest/pure commuter days, I’m on my black/blue/red 2006 Trek 4500 MTB with slicks, wearing either street clothes or a hobo-chic sporty ensemble that most surely clashes wonderfully. I don’t have practical bikewear — it’s either ELITE or hobo.

Are you going to be racing in the Clarendon Cup? Any other local races? Reason I ask is A)forum field trip to cheer for you! and B)if you and any other forum members race, it’d be awesome to get a heads up on local events. There was a pretty good conversation about CX in the fall that was useful for that, but a thread on crit/road race schedules would be great to see as well.

Great idea — I’d love a cheering section! My schedule is pointed entirely at a race in Upstate NY in April, but if I end up doing anything local during the summer I will let you know!

Agreed….I would certainly like to see more local races and a head’s up would be really helpful, and I bet we can do an awesome job of body painting for the cheering section… My swollen winter belly can be the front wheel!
