If I can ride it on my MTB commuter, I might be up to join, although I’ll have to split for dc by 730 to get to work on time.

Gonna be a last minute call for me, although it sounds like a blast, I’ll know by later this evening if I have to be at the shop early or not. Fenders OK on the trail?

    Fenders will be fine, Dickie.

I am not sure I want to ride my cross tires the 17 miles of pavement (plus 17+ miles home) just to do 45 minutes of CX laps. I might strap the CX wheels to my back, we will see.

Rule #5- Skip the CX tires.

I’m in, barring any last minute early morning meetings. How about wed morning at gravelly point around 7:15am?

    No can do. Enjoy!

Yeah, I had big ideas of going, but need to be in to work at a reasonable hour. Maybe next time. (And if anyone wants to hit up Lake Fairfax on cross bikes early in the morning, I am always looking for an excuse.)

Next week after HDCC? I’ve got next Wednesday off w/ no where to be but on my bike (not entirely true, but much more true than on my average Wednesday).

    Questions.

    1) Is this reasonable/doable for a not-highly-skilled rider on a hybrid?

    and

    2) Will anyone be out there in normal recreational hours (ie, weekends, and NOT 7am)?

Might just be a single lap for me. But I’ll give it a shot!

Cyclocross with commuter bags and blinkies. Jason and Matt were on road tires, definitely not recommended. The course is tougher than it looks in the video, there are a couple of super steep climbs by the 14th St bridge.

JasonB, GuyContinental, MattAune, KayakCyndi on the starting grid

This is a monster climb, i couldn’t ride it on the SS. Guy made it up the first time but bent his rear derailleur (made worse from a previous fall).

Best part of cat 6 racing, taking long breaks between laps.

Was that a speed trap car on the grass in the background of KayakCyndi’s solo photo?

Ha! I totally missed that. I like to think that he was our one and only spectator.
