I’m a dining nightmare. I eat 6 or 7 meals per day. Usually one of those meals is what a human would recognize as a meal. Breakfast usually comes at 4:30, 6 and 9:30am. Lunch is at 11am and 2pm. Dinner is at 5 and 7:30. I try to stop eating at that point. If I’m working late, last dinner will be at 9:30.

The Amish diet. Eat alot and burn alot of calories.

I think this poll is broken. It only lets me answer for first breakfast.

I don’t think it knows about second breakfast, Pip.

I try to eat breakfast soon after waking up (around 6:30) as I am usually ravenous at that time, and it helps me get going in the mornings. Of course, I like to sleep in/push the snooze button a lot, so a lot of my breakfasts are eaten after I make it to the office (around 8:00).

Tell me about it. My company had the world’s worst cafeteria, which unfortunately closed in December with vague plans to replace it. (What’s the old joke about the food is horrible and the portions too small.) The food was lousy, but I’m not organized enough to pack a lunch, so I ate there anyway. Now, I can beg a friend to go out to lunch or walk a mile each way to the Harris Teeter shopping center. My building recently added an honor-system self-checkout refrigerator with frozen meals, premade sandwiches, etc., but it’s lousy and yucky.

If you’re not organized enough to pack your lunch from home, I would recommend buying groceries at the Harris Teeter near your office to use exclusively for lunch at work. You would probably only need to make the trip about once a week.

I usually bike home for lunch since I live less than a mile from work, but I have also found success in bringing the ingredients for meals to work for assembly (no sleepy prep work required in the morning or night before). Mind you, I have eaten peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for more than 50% of my lunches all-time (it’s been my go-to for lunch since the moment I grew teeth), so if you’re looking for something a little more gourmet, it may be more of a challenge depending on your office’s kitchen facilities.

It’s the only way to be.

All this talk about meals is making me hungry. Good thing Elevensies is right around the corner ….

When I worked I had a bowl of Cheerios with a banana (in season, I would add blueberries, strawberries and a peach to the bowl) and milk. Once I got to work, I would have a cup of yogurt and a cup of coffee. Lunch was a PB&J with two pieces of fruit. When I got home, a beer and a handful of peanuts and then dinner. My commute each way was a bit more than an hour.

Now that I am not working, I have two cups of coffee and then eat the same breakfast before going out for a two – three hour bike ride. When I get home, I have the same lunch, but have added a glass of milk. Around four, I have my beer and peanuts and then have dinner.

After being harassed by my doctor to start eating breakfast (most important meal of the day and all that), I’ve ended up needing to take a thyroid medicine which has to be taken at least a half hour before eating breakfast. This is a royal nuisance, as it often means I’ve got to delay breakfast for at least a half hour after waking up, which is often the time I’m trying to head out of the house. I’ve therefore started taking the medication the first time in the morning I wake for a trip to the bathroom, so that the half hour will have passed before I get up for the day.

Getting old is a royal pain!

    What, no Morning Tea?

I usually eat breakfast at work. Usually I bring in a couple slices of bread, and toast it at work, and I keep jars of pb and Vegemite in my cube. Sometimes I’ll dust it with Ovaltine…

Lunch is usually 12pm at latest for me though, and my biggest meal of the day. Dinner is early (5-6pm) but often relatively light. Once the kids are in their beds, I’ll usually have another snack as well (often greek yoghurt but also often something more indulgent).

I used to eat a hearty eggs and bacon breakfast at my old job because one of those Korean delis was downstairs. New job there is nowhere close unless I want to stop on my bike and carry food–I don’t. So I just skip it. Totally unhealthy. Instead I have two cups of black coffee.

When I drive to work (most days) I eat breakfast around 9:30 or 10 (coffee when I get up though), ride during lunchtime 11:30-12:30, and each lunch sometime after that depending on my day’s schedule.

On those occasions that I do ride to work (30 mile ride) I eat first breakfast when I get up around 5-5:30am before heading out at 6am, second breakfast around 8:30 at work, and lunch at lunchtime 11:30. But I totally earn all those breakfastses!

When I get to work I drink about 40 oz of coffee and eat an egg sandwich on whole wheat bread. I am usually good without water or food for about three hours. Then I turn into a homicidal maniac and will eat six poptarts and chase with yoohoo before I can return to normal. SUPER HEALTHY.

It’s a bowl of cereal for me in the morning (usually at 6 am), then yogurt at 10:30 and lunch at about 12:30.
