FYI. There is supposed to be a food truck this Sunday. However, once in a while they end up not showing. Or you could always do a quick side trip to the Sunshine General Store. Rumor has it, they have some awesome burgers!

However, since I’m currently out of town, I’ll have to find my own local brewery.

Thanks Alan. We will probably get there before the food truck and I don’t want to risk it being late or not showing up. As for the Sunshine General Store, I have never been brave enough to try one of those burgers on a ride! If you do, let me know how it sits!

Happy riding wherever you are, and I hope you find a brewery.

I’m interested in coming! I’d start at Beach and Knowles–do you have an estimate for when you’ll get there? Or I can meet you at the bakery, and I’ll pm you my number. Also, it looks like the Glenmont metro is closed this weekend.

    Shira:

Great! I’ll PM you my number and can text you when we leave the French School. It is about 5 miles from French School to Knowles, so I would guess 10:15ish?

Thanks for the heads up about Glenmont; I completely forgot about that.

    Hope to see you tomorrow.

Well, that did not go according to plan! Shira, Merlin, and I gamely started out only to encounter dropping temperatures and rain/sleet. We were not dressed right and decided to turn around at about Mile 14 and find some coffee to warm up. Frustratingly, the ride ended with the sun coming out and temperatures creeping back up into the 40s. Grrr. So not so many miles and no beer. Still, a bad day on the bike is pretty damn good!

We will try again next week

And despite the authentic sleet falling from the sky, the weather API gods failed to bless it as a snow ride, nor even with accumulated precipitation.

Boo! My hands were numb most of the ride, so I feel like I earned some extra credit!
