ParticipantOn Gallows, turn right at Prosperity and go 2 blocks to Merilee and resume going south across Lee Hwy. Turn left on Strawberry to get to Freshbikes. Merilee is much nicer that Gallows for those final blocks.

What is the best way to get there from Falls Church via bike? I can’t make it today, but hope to in the next few weeks.
There are a few ways to go. I’ll post them up in the morning. I’m pretty much toast right now and couldn’t create a sensible route if my life depended on it. There are a few ways to get there that are not bad. It’ll get a lot better when Fairfax extends the Gallows bike lane further south.

ParticipantTons of thanks to Ann, Liz, DCV, Dismal, James, PeterD and so many others who came out to ride tonight. I couldn’t have done it without you!!! I was leading a group of 41 people solo… with no-one to lead the fast group but me. I owe y’all a beer for sure!
Thank you very much.
Pete

ParticipantMy profuse apologies to those I led astray and to Dirt for betraying the confidence you placed in me. On the upside, I’m sure the adrenaline rush of riding on 123 helped everyone get a new PR on Col de Wolftrap!

To Dickie:
Just a short, heartfelt thank you for your many kindnesses to me this afternoon. Thank you for calling out the cars I did not hear, thank you for looking over your shoulder to see if I was in danger of being dropped, thank you for pacing me back up. You were truly kind and I appreciate it.
You are more than welcome, but I was simply taking the opportunity to spend some time talking and riding with you, the pleasure was all mine… in fact that 40mph bomb down Picket was all you, I just followed your line!

ParticipantDid the ride for the first time yesterday (only a week later than I had planned). It was fun, even though I was in the group that got left behind due to a red light. The sprinkling felt really good when finishing the ride, although it did get even better on my way home
I haven’t done a group ride in a while, but I must say I did like the pace. I imagine I will try out the Ballston Freshbikes ride in the future.

What were you riding? I’m better with bikes than I am faces.

To be honest, I didn’t know ANYONE there! I’m terrible with names.
I was riding my red 2011 Fuji Newest 3.0 road bike. I was wearing a blue “Reuse, Redesign, Cycle” shirt, black cycling cargo shorts, and had my silver helmet with camera and lights on top.

We talked before going out and after coming back. Glad you enjoyed the ride! Join us again next week.
I was riding for the glory of Freshbikes last night. For once, I didn’t snap any photos of the new FB Kit. Here’s what the jersey looked like:

I joined the ride in progress. I was riding the only bike able to rust in the rain last night: a black Nashbar steel touring bike.

Any idea on the pricing? I wasn’t super impressed by the FB Sugoi kit, but I would seriously consider the Assos stuff, especially if it’s a little cheaper than the regular Assos jerseys.

ParticipantBrian will be leading tomorrow night. I’ve got house guests and can’t step away in the middle of dinner to go for a bike ride.
Please show up and help him guide if your schedule allows!
Love,
Dirt

ParticipantSorry to be in Ottawa and not able to chase the Fast group for him. Need to go rent a bike today and ride in solidarity.
