Only if the trails at Wakefield are muddy. I lead the casual rides for the local mountain bike club on Tuesdays.

ParticipantDon’t forget the Freshbikes Mosaic ride tonight. I’m doing a pre-ride tonight too if you’re off work early. It is a lovely loop to the south of the shop thanks to Fairfax County completing a few roads behind Fairfax Innova hospital.
Pre-ride meets between 4 and 4:15pm at the Freshbikes Mosaic shop. Wheels rolling at 4:30 for a 16-mile loop of rolling hills.
Main ride meets between 6 and 6:15pm at the Freshbikes Mosaic shop. Wheels rolling at 6:30 for a 14.5 mile loop with an option to make it 19 miles. We usually get a beer at Lost Dog Cafe around the corner after the ride.
Hope you can make it to the ride tonight!
Pete

ParticipantOne of these days I am actually going to make it to this ride. I have heard good things about the group and would like to check it out sometime. Ok actually I want an excuse to go have a good beer at Lost Dog and riding is a good way to prep for beer consumption

I’m not able to do the ride tonight, but do you have a GPS map of some sort for the pre-ride loop? Would love to have it for some other time.

ParticipantI’m hoping to be able to stick around tonight. I’ll probably be tail-gunning, the commuter is *not* a fast bike.

ParticipantI’ll be coming tonight, but first I need to change a flat on my road bike. I tried to do it this morning (woke up early), but sadly when I started to pump air into the tire I heard a HISSSSSSSS. I then groaned and decided in my still-sleepy state to replace the tire this afternoon. Note: I am NOT a morning person in the least bit, and early-morning bike work (even a simple flat tire change) is a no-go for me. At least I can buy some spare tubes at Freshbikes while I’m there!

ParticipantGotta get home by 7:00 tonight so I am going to try my best to jet out of the shop for the pre-ride.

ParticipantWhat is the best way to get there from Falls Church via bike? I can’t make it today, but hope to in the next few weeks.

Probably the WOD to Gallows and south on Gallows to just past Lee Hwy.

Yeah, taking Shreve to Lee Highway and then riding on Lee Highway does not seem to be much fun.

Shreve is ok if you can maintain a high top speed. It’s downhill to flat from the W&OD to lee highway, and there are new wide sidewalks, bit I agree gallows is more comfortable.

ParticipantTo Dickie:
Just a short, heartfelt thank you for your many kindnesses to me this afternoon. Thank you for calling out the cars I did not hear, thank you for looking over your shoulder to see if I was in danger of being dropped, thank you for pacing me back up. You were truly kind and I appreciate it.
