ParticipantThe bullhorn bars, matchy-match tires, and platforms are a little hipster for my taste, but this is one of the top 10 best thing to ever happen at FedEx.

ParticipantAfter reading this article, I think that bike might be the same one he rode as a teenager. It would be in line with his choice of automobile (1991 Mazda)

ParticipantI think these stories do more PSA-wise for bicycling safety than the psas the governments run. Maybe he can talk his teammates into it.

I assumed it was at their practice facility in Ashburn, which is a stone’s throw from the W&OD.

Oh, maybe. Still, FedEx will take whatever positiveness it can get. It needs it.

ParticipantAlternative view of the bike, courtesy of Fox 5 DC. Includes cute little Vine vid. Also, they say it was the Ashburn facility.

Looks like I may be wrong about the bike being his childhood ride – it’s got more of a modern fixie (possibly with flip-flop hub for single-speed mode) look. Hipsters prefer old things to modern things.

ParticipantSo now someone has to pass him on the trail and post a pic!

It’s still one of the top 10 best things to ever happen at FedEx

He’s probably pretty fast though.

I was thinking the same thing. I realize that running on foot and cycling don’t always translate, but this is a guy who runs the 40 yd dash in the 4.6 sec. range. It was sobering to run a dash with someone who can run a 4.6 40 – in my case, it wasn’t Morris but another guy who played safety in college – I blinked once and he was already at the finish line, way ahead of the rest of us.

ParticipantBetter to challenge him in a distance contest. Football is an anaerobic sport. Short bursts of speed and power and contact, followed by long pauses in between plays.
When Hines Ward trained for the Hawaii Ironman race last year, he said that he never ran more than a mile or two at a time, ever, until his Ironman program. I also heard Carl Lewis say that until he trained for a marathon a few years ago, he had never run more than one mile at a time ever. Elite anaerobic athletes don’t do long aerobic workouts. It doesn’t fit their sport and it can be counterproductive. And that’s exactly why you should challenge Morris to a century ride. Most of us wouldn’t have a chance against him in a sprint or short-distance race.

ParticipantTo be fair, though, Hines Ward is a total douchebag.

ParticipantI just sent them an email about LeBron James and Arnold Schwarzenegger, two very famous fitness-minded individuals who are also bike enthusiasts.
