Washington Monument detour

The path around the south side of the Washington Monument (between 17th Street and 15th Street) was closed this morning, apparently due to an event at the stage in that area. It wasn’t clear if this would be a brief closure or if it would affect the evening commute. The path around the north side of the monument was open.

Also, the path on the south side of the reflecting pool between the Lincoln Memorial and 17th Street remains closed. The path on the north side is open.

I’d assume any closures in that area will run through the fourth of July until proven otherwise. Also, you can expect to see the annual Hains Point closure before the fourth as well.
