Mine’s sharked and I’m not going to destroy my chain on it. I’m looking for a new-ish / lightly used cog that will mesh well with a new chain, for at or under the $20 cash range.
I’ll look when I get home. You wouldn’t happen to have a 110bcd 39t chainring to trade, would you?

1/8? I *might* have one. Only problem is that I think my spare is an 18. Will check this evening when I get home.

Participant1/8 or 3/32… doesn’t matter, really.
and alas, I have a 130 bcd 42t chainring, but it’s probably just as sharked as the old rear cog.
I think the BioPace inner that I sold with the Volpe was 39t.I also have a parts pile that I will have to look at when I get home to make sure.

V – I have a 39 tooth Campagnolo chainring in my office you can have. Do you have a Campagnolo crank to put it on?

thanks, don’t have campy – it’s a compact crankset 110bcd (FSA). I don’t know if that’s compatible, thanks

VI thought Campy was 144 bcd, although I’m no mechanic. 130 is standard, 110 is compact, and I think inner diameter on a triple. There are some other old odd ones out there too… I think old Motobecane, for instance?

ParticipantI’ve got an almost new 16 tooth, 1/8th inch, Surly cog. PM me and we’ll figure out how to get it to you.

Yeah – looks like its an 18 – but sounds like other forum members might have you covered.

ParticipantThanks Mr. Eighth – PM sent.
Thanks Blisko for checking and offering. 46/18 is just a bit too low – I’d be spun out on some of these hills, I’d rather stand going up and be comfortable on the flats.
All I have for chainrings is a 42 and a 52.July 23, 2013 at 2:52 am #976153Dirt
ParticipantI’ll check the shop in the morning and see what I’ve got. I probably have 15-18 cogs as spares laying around. I’m relatively sure the 17s and 18s are pretty worn though.

ParticipantThanks to OneEighth for meeting me this morning and selling me one of his extra cogs. I plan on installing it at work today and riding home fixed!

Glad it has a good home. Nice meeting you!

ParticipantMy plan to install it at work failed. Lockring came off easy peasy, but I could not get the original cog to budge with the chainwhip. I rode home fixed without the lockring and did a fair bit of skip stopping to try to break it loose.
I’m not riding today, but will have to try to reverse rotafix this thing off the hub when I get home tonight. Here’s hoping it doesn’t strip the hub threads!.
