I probably don’t use my membership enough to make it worth the cost, so I think of it as a donation to a non-profit whose goals/ideals I support and from which I get occasional benefits.
This. I have had my CaBi membership for over a year and have used it twice. I like having the backup if some major mechanical catastrophe were to happen to my commuter bike when I am out and about. I can just lock up my commuter and hop on a CaBi to get home to get my car. I also like having the ability to CaBi to a metro station instead of having to lock up my commuter bike at the station (the closest station to me is >2 miles away). Plus, I feel like my membership helps keep things going for those that do use the bikes on a daily/weekly basis.
This sounds like a fun scavenger hunt. Hopefully I can find a little time this week to hit up these stations.
