Better picture, showing the puncture all the way through.

Wow, impressive aim! And on skinny tires to boot.

I’ve never seen that before. Fortunately.

Wow, a nail there? I’ve definitely seen plenty of broken glass north of Mass on the cycletrack, but no construction stuff. Note to self when I head over to Bethesda Bagels from work, don’t take the cycletrack back.

Well, could be worse. Could have been your foot.

Crazy stuff. At least they weren’t carbon rims.

Anyone need a nail (used, good condition)? by thetejon, on Flickr

New wheel should be here Wednesday. Looks like I’ll be on CaBi for a few days.

Isn’t there a “catch and release” policy on big honkin’ nails?

I flatted for the first time this year with a pair of gatorskins but not that impressive.

I’ve put maybe 500 miles on those Specialized Armadillo Elites, and they’ve been awesome so far. Two flats – one was a bad tube installation where the valve wasn’t quite straight and it actually sheared halfway off when I hit a bump funny. The second was this. Neither one of those can be blamed on the tires.
