I’m going to volunteer with Judd and some soon-to-be junior park rangers tomorrow, so I’m out as well. If anyone wants to pick up my mug for me, I’ll buy you lots of beer.

Qudsiya and I are planning on starting the Honeycrisp by 9. Jeff–we might be a little ahead of you but maybe we’ll cross paths and can have a tandem convening. dbehrend–thanks for the suggestions! Last year we went to the Greenbelt Co-op so that’s another option.

I just got done with the most physically exhausting day of work in my life so I’m bowing out of the long ride tomorrow. I’ll show up around 9 and may do a ten miler and pick up my mug if I can manage that.

    Ugh. Get some rest!!

Wondering if any ride marshals (or anyone really) had feedback on the route changes this year? I felt like the changes seemed well received, particularly getting more miles further into DC on the ART. But I did hear once complaint about skipping Greenbelt National Park (which is a pretty area but hard to access by bike…)

I liked the changes to the route this year. I heard similar sentiment from several folks I rode with. I thought the trade-off of missing Greenbelt Park (but really Greenbelt Road, Good Luck Road, and Campus Drive) for more miles on the ART was well worth it.

I like the route changes as well. With a stiff headwind coming up the Anacostia, I rode alone to and from the 11th Street Bridge. It seems like most riders opted to cross the East Capitol Street Bridge instead, shaving off 2 or 3 miles. Or maybe I was the 55-mile lanterne rouge.

Pie portions seemed bigger this year. Yay pie. I missed out on the mead. Boo.

Location of the pit stop in the park in Greenbelt was moved closer to the parking area, away from the bees that stung me the last couple of years.

The post ride party is always fun and this year was not exception.

Thanks to all the volunteers, pit stoppers, and WABA staff.
