2008 Kona Major Jake with Nokian Hakkeplitta A10 700 x 32 72 Studs. Definitely not enough for the goddamn MVT which remains ungoddamnplowed. This bike and tires (which are really “studs-lite”) are happiest in fresh powder. When I went out at 12:05am last Saturday it was pure awesomeness. I just ordered some 45NRTH 700x38s which I think will be a little more hearty.
I’m looking forward to not riding studs. 8 days in a row I think, so far…
Will 38s clear that frame/fork? I’m assuming they’re for that bike.

I am assuming so – when I bought the bike off of ebay he shipped some 38s and 35s in the box along with the tires on the bike. So using that lazy af research I have deduced that, yes, they will fit! Possibly related: keep an eye out on DC Used for these tires in the next two weeks.

2015 Specialized Langster fixed gear with 23 slicks. Bike is too big for me but I love love love it so I am going to get a shorter stem and more narrow handlebars and make it work. Light sculpture in the picture is one of my favorite things in falls church – you can see it from Great Falls Street right past Lincoln Park.

I love that too, always wanted to stop and snap a pic!
Incidentally I feel like my Wabi fixed gear is just a little small… 2.0 mile pedal swap + ride swap sometime??

I took a trip to Maui for a friend’s 50th birthday party. She got me in touch with one of her friends who works at a local bike store, who provided me with this nice Specialized Tarmac. I got out every day on the long weekend here, but two rides really stuck out in my mind. The first was going north from the hotel, doing part of the very hilly northern coastal road, including the Honokohau Bay Wall (with one short 17% grade section). The other was heading south and exploring the Honokohau Ditch trail, a surprisingly nice bike trail out in the middle of nowhere.

Jamestown Island loopI have taken hundreds of versions of this same photo — bike on Jamestown bridge. Regardless of ride, season or weather it is one of my favorite places on earth.

This is a “GTR Series 1” road bike, with a bunch of upgrades made over the years. It was my first road bike/bike with drop bars and although it doesn’t get as much ride time as it used to, it still works pretty well for a road century. This was with the DC Randonneurs crew.February 7, 2016 at 1:00 am #1047322trailrunner

2/8/2016dcv is one of the best sources for n+1 that I know. A casual discussion at coffee one morning last fall about needing n+1 resulted in Vin finding me this within hours. I haven’t ridden it in awhile and almost forgot how fun it is. But no, I still don’t want to race Singlespeed cx.

Heh as soon as we parted this morning I realized I failed to mention, once again, how much I love that bike. CX single speed is definitely #1 on my list for next bike.
