ParticipantI can’t believe you’re allowing ElliptiGOs. It’s like I don’t even know who you are.

Are you against encouraging someone riding 2+ miles in the winter on an ElliptiGO?!

ParticipantI’m against them no matter what on aesthetic grounds.

ParticipantHmmmm…with Bikeshare I could theoretically get up to 6, but that would mean taking the trainer tire off my Cannondale, and I really don’t want to do that…

I have SPD-SLs on two of my bikes…

ParticipantTwo mile hot laps around Mike’s, Kindred, Amouri, Best Buns, Java Shack and Swings from now until March 20th?

Yes! But only as hot as you would want to do on someone else’s bike that might not fit properly – and possibly with flat shoes on clipless pedals. Or on a fixed gear, even.
(And as with the main FS competition it’s more about consistency than anything else, given that you can only add 1 to your n each day!)

I was liking this bet until I got to this line, which disqualifies my LA rental and my Boulder Bikeshare bikes.
I really did want to start from the first day of BAFS but just didn’t get around to posting anything! I figured it wouldn’t be fair to allow backdating because some folks would start with higher numbers already, and not everyone takes photos. You can still submit them if you have photos, maybe they’ll get used in a tiebreaker… also: I might take beer bribes.
Ok, so to kick things off:
N = 1, 1/27/16
I noticed a strange noise in the back. Two broken spokes on the rear wheel (my first ever, finally!). Two slow miles on paved, plowed but narrow roads and lots of melting runoff. Sunshine was great. Rigid 26″ MTB on studs.
N = 2, 1/28/16
Went to check out the trails, especially the route to DC. Roads are probably still better overall. Studs aren’t exactly required, but I prefer them still. CX bike.

ParticipantI’m sorely tempted to try for this one, but somehow I think I’ll be eclipsed in short order. I have a grand total of 8 bikes at home and a Cabi membership… Hmmm… how much time each day can I afford to waste doing test rides at Bikenetic…?

ParticipantMore to the point, how much time can the very bored bike shop employees in the challenge spend test riding bikes?

Do you have any fat bikes that need to be test ridden?

Only 10 minutes per day for the rest of the challenge sounds easily doable.

ParticipantN=1 Surly Ogre shod with studs.
1/27/2016Seemed like overkill on the Custis tonight on the way home. But it has proven to be the perfect choice these past few days and likely will be again tomorrow morning when all that melt turns to ice. And to think I had been considering selling this bike. Maybe not ….
