You can never be too casual for Cat 6. I’m coming in a button-down shirt and khakis with the pant leg rolled up.

Weather is supposed to be beautiful tomorrow. Ride is scheduled to end around noon? Shirlington Oktoberfest is scheduled to begin around noon? Ride ends right near Shirlington?

Excellent linkage. Well played! See you tomorrow.

Great ride yesterday! Pace was slow but expected as there were families with kids who had probably never ridden that distance (or ridden this decade!). Weather couldn’t have been better and ride support was superb. The vuvezelas at the Rosslyn stop were an added treat.

Crossing at Lynn was well guarded and safe.

All in all, a fine time was had by all.

Yes the vuvuzelas were indeed an inspired touch. Good thing we were not forewarned, or we might not have stopped there…. :)

Excellent ride. Kudos to all involved. And all that bike goodness – plus a cameo from Dirt – for a mere $5. Wow.

I really liked the handlebar mounts that came with the vuvuzuelas too! Has anyone else tried theirs yet? Yep – the ride was loads of fun with a great group of people, and from the post-event chatter I’m hearing from people who heard about it and wished they had come, may be an even bigger event next year. Many thanks to all! And I was just kidding about the handlebar mounts. ;-)

For those scouring the Performance or Bike Nashbar sites for vuvuzuela mounts for your ride, it seems to be a custom application that may not yet be available commercially. Might be an opportunity for any entrepreneurs out there. Doesn’t require recharging like an airzound and might even include a “defeat the earbud” setting.

And it might require some serious yoga lessons to be able to lean down to blow into them, unless the mount includes special tubing.

I am quite far behind in my thanking people (and will remain so, for another day), but I just wanted to tell everyone how much I and the rest of the Arlington Fun Ride organizing crew *really* appreciated the folks from the forum who pitched in. It isn’t a stretch to say that the ride could not have happened without you. So big thanks to Arlingtonrider, Dirt, Dismal Scientist, and Screaminquadz for some awesome ride marshaling, and to ACC and Consularrider (and Consularrider, Jr) for making the Ballston Pit Stop happen. You guys are awesome.

I was so bummed that today was a holiday. There was no-one on the path at 0530 to hear my lovely music. I’m sure the neighbors along the trail loved it.

Thank you, sir! Y’all put on a great show. It was an honor to help.

I *knew* I’d forget someone – thanks to DBB, too! (That’s what you get for being the first one there, D.)

T’was our pleasure! Loads of fun – and great to see everyone having such a good time. You all did a great job putting it all together.
