ParticipantSounds like a fun community event, but one that might need a lot of support. I’d be glad to help out and will email you separately for details. Hmmm – my helmet might need a little jazzing up for this.

ParticipantCan still use a few volunteers – both as ride marshals and at the Ballston pit stop. Thanks for the responses so far – I’ll be in touch with everyone via email.

ParticipantI’m in as a ride marshal. Have any of the other marshals picked out their riding costumes? I’m not sure my “Little Bo Peep” outfit will be family friendly and I don’t want to show up wearing the same thing as others.
(Totally joking about the whole costume thing…. I just liked the whole “lost his sheep” aspect of the ride marshal duties.)
Should be a fun ride and a great group of people to ride with.
Love,
Pete

ParticipantDamn this sounds fun, too bad my presence is required at a good friends wedding. Being an adult is lame sometimes. Good luck fellas.

ParticipantHey Mark – I’m interested. I’ll shoot you a message. Thanks for letting us know!

ParticipantI’ll need to do a pre-ride spin to loosen up a little. I’m gonna ride west on the W&OD at 0630. I’m meeting Mikey in Vienna, getting coffee, then heading back east to Phoenix. It would be nice to have y’all join in. Pace will be easy and mellow.

ParticipantI do believe we’re covered on volunteers. *Thank you* to everyone who’s helping out.
For everyone else? Come on out! Registration on site* is easy – $5 gets you t-shirt, food, and excellent company. $10 per family.
*But man, you’d sure make me feel better if you added to the pre-reg numbers by going here to register.

I’ll try and join you Pete for the pre-ride. Thanks!

ParticipantPre-ride starts at 0630 at the intersection of Grove Ave and the W&OD. That is right at the bridge that crosses over Rt. 7. There’s a drinking fountain and park bench there. I’ll roll West on the W&OD and may stop for coffee at Starbuccios in Vienna or Soundry if it is open. Oops. Soundry doesn’t open until 0800. Ixnay on the Offeecay from Oundrysay.
I’m not planning on sitting around and sipping Latte’s all morning. We’ll be rolling mellow, so I’m thinking of drinking and riding. We’ll roll back east toward Arlington. By the time I get to Phoenix she’ll be rising, She’ll find the note I left hangin’ on her door. She’ll laugh when she reads the part that says I’m leavin’, ‘Cause I’ve left that girl so many times before.
I’m predicting this ride will be done at cat6 or cat7 race pace.
(super mellow.)
See y’all there.
Pete

ParticipantCool – I’ll plan on seeing you there at 6:30. Also, I think you meant “the bridge that crosses over Rt. 7”. I knew what you meant ; )

Yes, but will it still have the comical self-importance, indignation, and bad fashion sense of a cat6/7 at the height of the cat6/7 season?
If my lazy backside is up in time, I may slink out of the house and join in.

I’m definitely going to be wayyyy too casual for Cat 6/7.

ParticipantOh good. In that case, I won’t be hopelessly outclassed.
Did you see the radar set up by Hains Point? Couldn’t resist making a couple of passes this morning. Didn’t hit official Fred Woo-hoo speed but had fun anyway. Must have been a lack of indignation.
