    Bumping, because counters are still needed. This is an easy way to give back and help build future infrastructure. While the City has added automated counters, there is still a big gap in capturing the users of our streets and trails. Data from the counts at the locations below will help inform future projects.

    One of the constant perceptions in the City is there aren’t pedestrians and bikers using the streets and trails therfore why should any money be put into infrastructure for these users. Having the data to show usage helps to counter that view.

    NOTE: You don’t have to live in Alexandria to be a counter.

    C Mt Vernon Ave South of Four Mile Run
    E Off Street trail between Braddock and King Metrorail Stations
    G North Beauregard St just south of the intersection with King St
    H2 Holmes Run Trail at the intersection of N Pickett/Holmes Run Pkwy
    J2 Intersection of Cameron St and Royal St
    K Prince St just west of the intersection with Washington St
    K2 Intersection of Prince St and Royal St
    L Slater’s Lane just west of Portner Rd
    M King St at Fayette St
    N Braddock Rd Underpass at the Metro Station
    P Commonwealth Underpass near King St Metro Station
    R Van Dorn St at Pickett St
    S Cameron Station Blvd at Kilburn St
