Volunteer for the Arlington Fun Ride?

Hi, all – just like last year, the Arlington Fun Ride could use your help in ensuring that the ride is a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We need ride marshals, rest stop help, and perhaps a brave soul or two who’s willing to step in anywhere needed on Saturday. In return, you’ll get a 2012 Arlington Fun Ride technical t-shirt AND the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping grow Arlington’s most family-friendly ride.

Fun Ride marshals will need to show up around 7:30a, and can expect to be involved until 11:30 or so. Rest stop staffing depends on the spot (Ballston and Crystal City need the most help, right now), but can start as early as 9a and end as late as noon (sort of a rolling 2 hour window). We could also use a couple of gentle marshals for the kids ride, which will roll out at 10:30 or so.

Interested? You *could* use the form here, but it’s probably much easier to just drop me a PM here or send me an email (my initials @ blacknell.net). Let me know what you’d like to do, and include your phone number (I don’t plan to call/use it – just keeping it for emergencies on the day of the ride).

It’s a very short out and back on the WOD/Four Mile Run trails. The length will depend on the composition of the group (younger = shorter). We’re not requiring pre-registration for this one, so we really don’t know how big/small the group will be. Come check it out!

Thanks for such a great ride! That was, by far, one of the best rides I’ve done. Awesome support (thanks volunteers!) and the rest stops were perfectly spaced. I just wish my son wouldn’t have bailed on me But, he did have a girl come over last night, so I can’t blame him. For his age, he’s got his priorities right LOL.

Thanks for roping me in to a ride marshall, I needed a good vest! (thanks Mr. Blacknell for allowing me to keep it)
