ParticipantNo guys, it is Mattolini bike, it was a road racing bicycle builder that produced frames and handcrafted parts till 90’s. This bike was the last owned by my grandfather, produced in 70’s.
I think you can not know Mattolini, it was a little factory in Sesto Fiorentino, near Florence… may be only a few Mattolini’s bikes are still living.February 4, 2015 at 1:22 pm #1022172Jason B

ParticipantYes, they usually made holes like M on the bb and sometimes on shifters to lighten the bike…

ParticipantFound this thread while searching for any mention of the new Bianchi Eroica bike (introduced 2nd half of last year as an “All Road” model) as well as the L’Eroica ride. I believe the OP was referring to the original L’Eroica in Chianti. I added that to my bucket list.
There’s also an Eroica California which is done under the same rules. You must ride a bike made in 1987 or earlier – if not your ride must be an approved vintage-style modern bike. The Bianchi of course qualifies – well they are a sponsor of L’Eroica so the sponsor gets to do whatever they want. At least they had to good taste to not “prequalify” the ultramodern Specialissima model too, though that would have been pointless as L’Eroica is not a race.
Bianchi’s prequalified bike:

Official site (I think) of L’Eroica:
http://eroica.cc/Eroica California site:
http://www.eroicacalifornia.com/The CA site has an article that suggests a low-cost option for participation and also mentions rental:
