Used Honey Brown Brooks B17, Very Good Condition, $50

This is a used Brooks B17 standard saddle in honey brown color. I estimate that this has about 2000 to 2500 miles on it and is in very good condition with no scraping or scuff marks. Although this is the first Brooks saddle I purchased, I have not used it for the past 3 years and am selling it to get rid of some unused items. Although this number of miles may sound like a lot, bear in mind that these saddles ordinarily last for thousands of miles as this post here attests:

Story on usage: when I first started bike commuting in 2007, I quickly realized the stock saddle on my first bike was not going to work for me so I got this Brooks B17 and rode with it all of 2007. Then in early 2008 I swapped it for a sprung Brooks B17 (Champion Flyer model) because I wanted a bit more support on bumpy parts of my ride. I have used the sprung model ever since. As my second bike is upright and needs a wider saddle (also a sprung Brooks but a wider model), my first Brooks B17 has been unused since 2008. Since my commute is rather long and I don’t go every day, I rarely, if ever, rode this in the rain and always parked inside.

The only cosmetic blemishes are the slight black markings from my bike shorts on the back of the saddle (barely visible on the left rear of the saddle in the photo). Discoloration of the Brooks saddles is typical though, the honey brown ones definitely get darker with time. On the underside, the rails get scraped where the clamps of the seat post affix to the rails, this is so common that I am not affixing a photo of it, only a photo of the top.

In anticipation of selling, I put Proofide (the Brooks leather treatment) on the saddle a few days ago.

Used Brooks B17s in very good or better condition regularly sell for at least $50 (or more) plus $10 shipping on Ebay so I am selling for $50 (firm).
