I wanted to remind everyone that EVERY Tuesday night we will be having “social gatherings” to discuss and enlighten our community on biking in Arlington. This week (tomorrow) we’ll have Angela Parotta from Revolution Cycles providing her expert advice on bicycle equipment (i.e. lights, locks, tools), clothing and gear as well as providing a tutorial on how to fix a flat. I know many of you, if not all of you, know how to fix a flat. But we know it’s one of the most important skills someone can have when riding a bike because you’re tire won’t decide to go flat on you when it’s convenient so you’re likely not going to be near a bike shop for someone to fix it for you.

We’d like to get a bunch of people attending our sessions, from novice to experienced cyclists. Next week will be another safety session – we tailor the information to the group so we don’t bore everyone with information they already know. It’s meant to be interactive and social so people can share their stories and talk to their neighbors about their experiences. We’ll have free food too, if the other stuff doesn’t do it for you then the food might draw you in. We will also be giving away a really nice prize at every session. Tomorrow we’re giving away an annual Capital Bikeshare membership – so if yours is up for renewal or you still don’t have one, come join us and be entered to win :)

We’d appreciate all the publicity we can get so if you have ways to distribute this information please pass it along. We’d love to see some familiar faces at the events even if you’re only there for the free food :)

Here is the link to register (it’s free): http://bikearlington-twt-efbevent.eventbrite.com/

    THANKS!!!!!!!!

Yes that’s the address! Right near Lost Dog and Stray Cat Cafes.

I was out that morning. That was the tights under the wind pants, two pairs of socks, chemical toe warmers, merino wool and fleece tops, fleece face mask, ski helmet, moose mitts and gloves morning. Ahhh – I remember it well! ;). By 9 a.m. though, it was all over.

I’ve posted your message to the DOT bike commuter list-serv crowd. Hopefully the WashCycle will pick this up as well.

I definitely want to attend one of these events but will wait till you guys roll around to the Clarendon/Quincy Street locations.

I’m planning a 5:30am departure on Bike to Work Day, thus freeing myself of the sense of impending zombie bike doom I got last year.
