ParticipantYeah, but think about the gas to be used. Perhaps heavy traffic on the way to work.
I’m thinking the car would seem awfully cozy tomorrow morning.

ParticipantAww, not even cold enough for black ice. Now where are my toes?

ParticipantI couldn’t find my leg warmers this morning, unnaturally bright red legs upon arriving at work drew undue attention/concern from security guard.

I was passed this AM by someone wearing shorts. I almost put on the balaclava this AM and thought to myself as I was passed that I was glad that I did not go the full-nanook as I really would have been put to shame.

ParticipantHad to put the balaclava and heavier gloves on this morning for my ride along the Potomac, but altogether, not a bad ride, and (in the District, at least), doesn’t look like it actually hit the freezing point.

ParticipantBeijing needs more windy days to make room for new pollution.

ParticipantReally a non-event, barely got to freezing outside the Beltway and only “moderate” winds after mid-night. That said, I still had my cold gear and wool layers on and one last hurrah for the cold weather gloves (left the lobsters in the drawer).

ParticipantThe good news, it wasn’t as cold as I thought this morning.
The bad news, the sidewalk I depend on to navigate Lee Highway was closed today.
The weather became the least of my concerns.ann

I saw a person (maybe the same) wearing shorts on MVT. The good news was I found him somewhat inspirational given I had idiotically chosen to ride off without gloves and my hands felt like they had spent a day soaked in artic sea waters.

ParticipantActually saw several riders in shorts this morning. Just not something I do in temperatures below 55°F.

I couldn’t find my pants, it happens.

ParticipantAnother chance tomorrow morning to ride in shorts with temperatures in the upper 30s.

ParticipantOh! You mean Pfunkallstar was wearing shorts? Huh.
I hate this time of year. I start out with all sorts of layers but about four miles into my ride I’m dripping with sweat.
At least I’ve retired the boots for the season.
But I seem to have an emotional attachment to my ear warmers. -
