Yup! Fenders were my friend today. I did have to find a dry place to sit to fix my cleat though. I sat under I-66 on the Custis and got the spring put back in place. Going to have to replace the whole thing tomorrow. The Custis trail was really nice this morning. I only had one guy who didn’t like that I passed him. He came charging back around me and stormed off into the distance.

Trail under and around the humpback bridge is covered in goose poop, from the invasion of honkers that have set up roost there the last few nights (I’ts made for a loud conversation between me and them as I ride through HUONK).

    Hains Point was empty.

Green line Metro was actually pretty pleasant this morning. No geese, no poop (that I was aware of), no slush. One guy did pass me a little too closely and abruptly as he moved through the train without calling his pass, but nothing too terrible.

But not riding to work and Friday Coffee Club made me a little sad, so I think I’m going to cave and get fenders again.

I kept thinking of that horrible Sting song about fields and then goose poop – fields of goose poop, it is on my leggings, I couldn’t get it out.
