Someone at work has abandoned and donated a bicycle, that I need to get to Phoenix Bikes.

With my normal hybrid with a rack on the back, is there a good way to tow another bicycle? Have people tried this? One thing I have seen is to put a mount for the fork on my back rack, take the wheel off of the towed bicycle, and attach it to my back rack. I have read, however, that this tows like a dead fish.

    Any ideas?

Let me know when you are going to do this and I’ll try to come by to shoot some video. I think the entire forum might enjoy watching what surely will resemble something from a Keystone Cops film.

I’ve tried the missing man (one hand holding the stem of the second bike) but I’m just not as coordinated as Dirt, who seems to do that easily.

I have a Burley D’lite trailer sitting around doing nothing if you want to try strapping the bike to the trailer and towing that.

I live in Pentagon City and have a Subaru Outback which can easily accomodate one bike in the back, presumably two. if you decide that a car is your best option. PM me.

You’re welcome to borrow the elBoda. It’s practically made for that.

You convince a co-worker to ride the extra bike with you serving as the guide. Buy ’em a beer afterwards and all is done!

    A thing-schlepper 9000!

It could be a good first ride.

I have done this and was happy when the cops stopped me. They assumed I had stolen the other bike.

I pulled a missing man the other night, but only for about a mile. stopping and starting are the hardest part. also crossing loose gravel on 700×25 tires.
