So far there are four riders registered with the WABA team for this ride. Anyone interested at the last minute?

I am doing the 50, if Consularrider is true to form he will do the 100

I’ll probably do the 50 miler. The 100 is an out and back plus I may end up also riding the Reston Century on Sunday so I’ll need to keep some energy in reserve.

Don’t know if I could swing 50 miles, since I haven’t done one of these before. Is it a real serious race, or can old bike chicks show up on their commuter hybrid just for fun?

This is a ride, not a race. You will likely see all kinds of folks riding all kinds of bikes at all kinds of speeds. The 33 and 50 mile routes have a fair amount of overlap so it looks like you could start the 50 miler and then cut it down on the fly.

Ride report. A superb day for a ride. BBQ at the end was a treat.

Open roads, polite traffic and did I mention the BBQ.

Roads offered great views of corn, soybeans and forests.

Many rest stops, this was my first that was run by citizens dedicated to protecting us from zombies. They seem to have been effective as no zombies were seen on the route.

Thanks to Consularrider for his able service as the WABA team captain.
