I’d like to go–but I’ll probably be there a little later.

Oh if there’s tutus, I’m there! :D I wonder if I can manage my ridiculous giant hat while riding? Hm… I’d better practice :D

I’m flying out of the country that day but am still hoping to make an appearance. Looks like a good time.

Possible I’ll show up early in the day but I’m thinking MTB in the morning. Got other plans later.

I’m going to try to go, at least for a little while. I might try to hook up further up the MVT with the convoy leaving from St. Elmo’s coffeehouse in Del Rey at 8:30 a.m.

Or you could just make something up.

Yup. Operative word “actual.” We have a standard fake DOB that we all use. Same with SSN and everything else. If dinks are going to ask for information they dont need, they are going to get information they cant use.

I would advise that if you choose to attend, you bring your legitimate ID with you because I and some other people you know will be checking IDs and affixing wristbands. We have been instructed to ask for ID from everyone. Enjoy the event responsibly! (Yes, I had four hours of training last night on serving alcohol).

So that’s a good (and unadvertised) point. This is a beer event. One would only need a wristband if one were drinking, right?

That is correct. You are welcome to attend (and the WABA website advertises this as a family friendly event, though I have my reservations), but to purchase tokens or drink beer you would need to show your ID and get a wristband.

    So who’s going?

I’m trying to decide if I’m going to tu-tu or not to tu-tu for my costume…

We’re planning to ride down with a small group from College Park. Should be there about 9:30am or 10am depending on how fast we go. Would be nice to meet up with people from the forum.

I’m probably going to attend with my family. I also have my reservations about the family friendliness of this event but in any event a visit to Yards Park should be fun.

I’m planning to be at or near Gravelly Point around 8:50 to 9 am tomorrow to try to follow some other folks to the venue site. My bike and I should be pretty easy to spot (look for the parrot), if anyone else would like to do the same. It’s early, i know!;)

Tour de Fat was over-the-top fun! The ambiance reminded me a little of Cirque du Soliel. I don’t have time now to write much now, but I hope someone else will, and I’m sure there will be loads of photos somewhere on the web. For those who missed it, I hear from a good source that it will be back. It’s definitely worth going to, and family friendly too, at least during the morning hours I was there. New Belgium did an incredible job hosting it. I had to leave before a lot of the events, but one of my favorite parts was a large corral where there were 20 or 30 crazy variations of bicycles and bike-like contraptions that people could ride around on. It was great to see a bunch of adults having a blast totally being kids again, which was basically the flavor of the whole thing. I hope someone posts more photos somewhere. I missed seeing Eminva and Greenbelt and crew, but saw ACC, vvill, Mark, Tim and other friends. Much fun!
