    You were smart to wait on the Powertap. The 2012 powertaps are awesome. Smaller, lighter and they put all the expensive electronics in an end cap that can easily be removed and switched out. If something goes wrong, you can swap out the electronics with a dummy cap and continue to use the wheel while you send back the electronics for repair. I seem to remember reading that it uses a better battery set-up too.

    It even tempts me…. and I’m a fairly determined powertap skeptic.

    It is a power meter that is built into the hub of the rear wheel. It measures how many watts the rider is putting out. If you look at the photo of Tim and Mark drafting, each of their rear hubs looks unusually large. If you tell them that it makes their butts look big, they’ll be less smug about always riding with a power meter. ;)
