    That bulge (or tear?) definitely would cause a flat. Hard to say if it caused what you saw, but seems likely.

    I think it is far from your commute, but if you want to swing by Westover. I have a 25mm Armadillo Elite you are welcome to have. It is used (maybe a few hundred miles), but I think it still has infinite life remaining. :-)

    Tire is toast IMO. Short term fix is to slip a tire boot between the split and the tube. All future stresses from riding and resisting internal air pressure are trying to further open the split. A split tire carcass failure is a fast acting blow out and not worth the risk.

    I’m replacing it Monday. I don’t take chances with tires. It is clear the seam is splitting on further investigation.

    Hozn, I’d like to purchase your tire to keep as a backup for when events like this happen. I can swing by after work Tues onwards.
