@Arlingtonrider, I couldn’t find the right thread for this, but since we talked about it during happy hour and I made a crudely drawn version of the Carlin Springs/W&OD proposed crossing (my version has it sitting on the Potomac River), here’s a better version:
My proposal: a 6-foot wide path that uses the power plant access road and connects to the W&OD trail on the west side of Carlin Springs Rd. Connecting on the west side allows people to easily access Kensington St which has a paved side path leading to the Bluemont Junction Trail and the Mary Carlin Woods walking trail which leads to the Bluemont Junction Trail near the pool. The 6-foot wide path would be less likely to be mistaken by a driver for a road. The path would run around the chained off power plant parking area access.
