I average about 10 mph (except on that roller coaster ride down 15th St/Raoul Wallenberger to Maine/Ohio then E. Basin), so I’ll probably be there 6:30 or later.

    Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Sorry to be a little out of touch these last couple of days. Tomorrow is looking great! I’m planning to call Cap City with our estimated count later on this evening as the patio is likely to be very popular on such a nice day.

Kitty, GeneralSilver and any other newcomers, I hope you’ll be able to make it! Please let me know or post if you have any questions. And don’t worry if you can’t get there right at 5 pm. We’re usually going pretty strong 6 to 7 pm and beyond.

If anyone else would like to join us (and maybe earn some more points for the NBC!), please let me know as soon as you can. See you all tomorrow!

Oh what the heck. I need a beer. I’ll be there. Hope I’m not too late to sign up. If I am, I’ll just stand off to the side, swilling my brew.

Ah, I’ve heard of that game: “Hey, I forgot which of these glasses is mine! Guess I’ll just drink from the fullest-looking one.”

Or are you referring to going around and actually drinking leftover beer? Warm beer + backwash + desperation = not something I want in my system :P

Well at least we’re not drinking the beer out of slug traps.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Many thanks to to all who RSVP’d – that’s a big help and very much appreciated!

If others want to drop by, please feel welcome. We just might not have seating for you if too many people do that.

Also, it would be great if we could recruit some more members for the National Bike Challenge at the happy hour. Our Washington All Stars team was #1 in the country for a time yesterday, but Gainesville resumed its lead today. We’re doing amazingly well for this stage in the Challenge period, even with about 100 fewer riders than Gainesville has!

    See you all soon!

You must have a ton to do. Good luck with it all. Maybe you might push your flight a day later. Just sayin’. :+)

And many thanks to you for setting this all up and wrestling with Cap City management and moving chairs around and….

It was great to meet DanB, GovernorSilver and Kitty for the first time. With new folks showing up I’m starting to feel like an old hand.

It really was great to put faces to some of the names on the forum. It was also nice to have an excuse to be out riding on a wonderful evening like tonight. Got home a little after 9 pm surrounded by fireflies. :)

I’m glad I went! Great evening to meet and have some beers with everyone I met.

Emm was right – the climb up Gunston and Valley to Braddock took some effort but was doable. I don’t think I dropped below 5th gear on my 8-speed bike. The climb lasted a while but the grade is much gentler than the one that kicks my tail in Huntington.

Took me just over 30 min. to ride back to Huntington from the brewpub.
