What time is everyone planning to get there. When I made the reservation I said people would show up between 5 to 7 but with the location out in Fairfax, I don’t really expect anyone to get there before 5:30 or 6pm. My wife will be riding with the kids and can be there at any time to hold the table. The question is how long do I want her to have to entertain 3 excited kids (who love the Green Turtle) before the other adults come.

If I leave work at 4 (far SE washington) – I should be at the GT by 5:45. Please let me know, I plan on calling the Green Turtle at lunch time.

    Thanks.

I was going to try to leave early and get there as close to 5 as possible (with my gang). I agree, most people will probably arrive on the late side given the distance. Or am I only one who thinks 4 p.m. is the middle of the work day which means one is leaving “early”?

    I’m shooting for a 5:15-5:30 arrival.

I’m rather doubtful about being able to make this at all, but then the sprout is agitating to hang out with some castmembers one last time before he heads off to VCU, so maybe …

Shirlington is still on – August 22 at Capitol City Brewery. I can’t make it to today’s happy hour either, but hope lots of others will be able to!

I’ll start a new Shirlington HH thread this weekend.

Sounds like 5:15 for early arrivals and 6:30 for late stragglers. I’ll let the GT know.

I’m guessing we will get about 15 people (if you count all all of the family members – Heck with Liz and Me we are up to 8 already.)
I will try to pick up name tags on my way home.

Had a good time at happy hour with everyone. Service sucked (no patio but instead a “way back” room, loooong gaps between even seeing our server when the restaurant wasn’t that busy, and how do you mess up chicken wings?), but we made the best of it in the “party room” with numerous jabs at other English-speaking nations. The door prizes were cool, too!

On the way back home (Google Maps says it takes 1:30 to go about 15 miles home in Ballston but it only took me 1:02), my headlight petered out (I had all my taillights and spokelights working), but luckily I rode back most of the way with Mikey and his 3 headlights. He kept me at a good pace while lighting the way amongst all the ninjas on the W&OD. BTW Mikey, I did post a personal record on Strava for the Virginia Lane hill thanks to keeping up with your pace :)

See you guys next week at the TFTHH (Technically Fourth Thursday Happy Hour) in Shirlington!

bobco85, I think that was Mark (Dismal) that you rode home with since I left with my family and headed south toward GMU.

Here are some (blurry) photos from last night. Thanks everyone who made it!

Thanks from me as well. I have no idea how fast I was going. My GPS wasn’t working.:(

Thanks Mikey, was nice to get out into my old hood. Had a lovely ride home as well… very peaceful.

Have I mentioned before how bad I am with names? Thank you, Mark, for lighting the way on the ride back! Perhaps I will remember your name in time for next week (probability of remembering ~ coin flip). And thank you, Mikey, for setting this all up!

    Here’s the Strava ride: http://www.strava.com/activities/75020423

We were on the same track until the bridge over I-66 just north of Madison Manor Park where you peeled off to go home.
