I love you all and that is why we need Thursday Happy Hours. Since our ambassador Kathy is planning a september return to Shirlington (which sounds fan-bloody-tastic since we all miss her SO much!), would someone like to take the reigns on the August edition? Liz or Mikey – Fairfax sounds awesome, or a few mentioned Alexandria, South Arlington which would be equally fun, what say you… who’s up for planning our next event?

I am just ready for Thursday to enjoy my last furlough day Friday. Can’t believe they promise me days off then take them away so so quickly . Major sad face…..
I guess I do need a beer, drown my sorrow and all…

My presence will depend on how far along our son is to being packed for the move to the dorm on Saturday. Anyone thinking of a bike convoy from Arlington out to Fairfax?

I will probably be heading out of the office around 3:30. I plan on passing through the intersection of doom/Rosslyn Circle between 4-4:15. Anyone want to meet there the and head up the Custis? My normal commute home takes me right by the Green Turtle, I stay on the W&OD to just shy of Vienna (ADAHI ST.) then work my way by the metro to Fairfax City. It’s not the most direct route, but I feel the safest. Anyone up to join me?

For those coming from a differet direction, I would pass through East Falls Church around 4:30-4:40ish.

We could have an early and a late convy too if that works for people.

I leave way too late from work and will have to drive but thanks for the generous offer.

I’ll be taking this route (mostly the same as Mikey) since I will be using my road bike instead of my commuter (hybrid) bike: http://goo.gl/maps/RSwBS

Just be ready for that hill on Old Lee Highway going south of Fairfax Circle. It’s not terrible, but it just takes a while to get up.

Shoot! Wanted to come and marked on calendar back when it was proposed, but my sister and nephew are flying in right during happy hour. She’s bringing him to start his freshman year at American U.
Hopefully be at Shirlington for next week’s. Is that still on?

I think an appropriate first lesson for a Freshman at American is NEVER interrupt your uncle’s beer time… a good walk from the airport might instill this! Trust me, I was a professor!
