ParticipantWelcome to the forum!
How cool are your kits going to look?
BTW, I think this is a great idea!

ParticipantMy wife’s bike shop might be looking to sponsor more racing. Last year’s effort didn’t go so well…

ParticipantIf I could find a slightly competitive, but not insane team, I’d strongly consider joining. But looking at some of the (at least nominally “open”) local teams like Squadra Coppi, I think I’d be too discouraged by my own suckitude to stick with it.

ParticipantCheck out The Bike Lane team. I used to ride for them, they’ve got a wide variety of riders across a wide variety of disciplines.

Now I know that there are a ton of clubs/teams in our area already, but, I’m interested in starting a new one. If anyone is interested in joining, PM me. I’m looking at starting a club focused on road racing and cx. Feel free to laugh at me and critique if you find this to be a dumb idea.
Just wondering why you want to start a new one. I believe teams have to sponsor a race, which is a lot of work and why it’s hard to start new ones.
Of course, if you start one and can organize a really close in race, I’d appreciate it! (I don’t race, but my husband does, and long drives to get to races suck).

Suckitude is my new favorite word.

Many of whom can’t be bothered to hold their line.

Participantdasgeh and twowheelsdc, I want to start one for people that are not super crazy hammerfest racers. I think some of the local teams are a little more exclusive than inclusive when it comes to skill level and I’d like to start a team with guys that want to have fun before just being super competitive. Now, I know that the point of racing is to win in the end, but personally I think there is more to a team than just that. So with those things in mine, that’s why I want to start a new team.
